67 GT Mustang Fastback Pro Touring Overhaul

Hey all,

I just thought I'd put a post together for the beginning of a pro touring overhaul on my 67 Fastback Mustang. I've owned the car since I was 11 and have since had 3 different motors, 2 different transmissions and 3 different rear ends. I've gone from a bone stock car, to a super shifter street/strip car, to a half assed pro touring car, and have now decided on building a tru one-off pro touring machine.

Wheels are 18x8 with 5.25 backspacing with 245/40/18 Goodrich KDW NT and 18x10 with 4.75" backspacing with 295/35/18's.

Really nice looking 67 Stang! I really like the mods you have made to it so far. It looks like you have upgraded from the original standard carb set-up to fuel injection. Did you notice any bump in hp/torque from that change over your initial carb set-up? I had considered a Keith Craft 408 stroker for my 66 Mustang Fastback as well as his shop is only about 2 1/2 hrs. from where I live. I have read some good things about his engine builds.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm really looking forward to the build, especially having followed some of the builds on the forum here.
As far as Keith Craft goes, nothing but good things to say about the customer service and the final product. The motor runs the same every day, has more than enough power and believe me I beat on it.. (although not when the complete re-do is done.. ) I haven't acquired the fuel injection yet, but Lance at Keith Craft Engines tells me if it's tuned properly it will make approx 20 more hp and torq

Thanks for the updated information on the status of the fuel injection system. I look forward to hearing how it performs for you once you get it installed as that may be a future modification I will look at doing as well. Have fun with the rest of your build....... razor66

Should be a sick build, curious though:

Shaved Drip Rails, Door mirrors, Windshield Wipers, Door Handles
Wont that make the car difficult to drive?

lol, glad you asked... the car wont' see a drop of rain.. I never used the mirrors before always shoulder checked instead, and the front rear valances are to be built yet.. like I said it's going to be a slow project lol

Pretty much same here, the bullet mirrors look cool, but are all but worthless.
