pinnion angle

hi again,does anybody know what the pinnion angle should be in my 80 malibu road course race prep? does exists any other way to measure it without the angle finder?

Angle finder $4 at harbor fright. compared mine to a digital at work and it was accurate.
I did a search on this site and found 4* is pretty much where to be...

The pinion angle will vary a bit .
Depending on whether the car has been lowered , etc..

Basically , you want the engine and rearend at the same angle.
With a 1.5 degree to 3.0 degree difference in the angle of the driveshaft .
So the u-joints have a "working angle".
