My father and I rebuilt this car over 12 yrs ago and I drove it everyday till I lost the brakes, parked it and it sat when I joined the army for the past 8 yrs

I have a 1965 mustang coupe

200 ci inline 6
C4 trans
drum brakes
all stock

what she used to look like

I have some plans for it
first thing is go buy a new jack since the one i have wont lift it high enough to put a stand under here and I will be able to replace the worn tire and be able to push her around

here are some pics.

awesome mustang. I am currently building a 65 K-model mustang drag car with my dad. I know you were interested in my falcon suspension but i also designed a bolt in coilover system for that car.

dont go overboard in the beginning, get your drive train and suspension sorted out before you tear it down, its much easier to swap the engine and make modifications / test drive prior to having everyting painted.

i plan on having the complete drivetrain ready togo before swapping and also the steering and suspension all sorted out. over this next deployment it, my garage will be storage to a lot of things and when i get home it will be sorting and installing/modifing..

i got lucky my neighbor had a jack tall enough and I was able to go buy a cheap used tire and have the car on 4 rollers for now

Great Project!!! As for the color black, I like satin black over straight matte black. I can send you some orginal photos of my 69 Mach 1 with a satin black hood if you'd like and it looks great. Keep up the good work as I will be watching your build and waiting to see the excellent progress you are making on it!

I also love the whimbelton white color on these early fastbacks!

Your ideas sound good. I really like THE BLENDER colour scheme if thats one of your options. I just put in the Classic Perform Products suspension with a Shelby drop in my coupe and really like the performance. Looking forward to your choices.

My son (17) finished this just this past summer, a run of the mill C code Mustang. We spent the winter stripping it down to bare metal and laid down my first paint job. All in all we were happy with the results, not so happy with the destructive nature high schoolers have on cars parked in the school parkin lot. We will have another round of fixes for the summer, door dings and minor scrapes. Planning to tighten up the front suspension, install subframe connectors. I tried to get him to do some cool aftermarket add ons in the front but he wants to keep it somewhat old school, cant even get him to move away from the stock hub caps. Guess I did something right all he listens to is 70's and 80's classic rock. Man after my own heart.
