Thanks!

Jason

I'm one mile from it on the west side. There's a small strip of ghetto that I can afford. Thanks for your help!!

Hey Tony that looks great.
I do really need some better pic's... These were taken last fall (I think) when it was still running. If I took a picuture of it now, it would look more like an autopsy... Every time I save some $$$ to put it back on the streets... well, life seems to happen. Due to a brief bought of insanity, I was going to sell it then. Thank the Lord no one took it from me. It's not for sale any more. I've had the crate since High School. Heres a few more shots of it.

Derek, Tony, Adam,
Thanks gents,
Unfortunately those two young copilots are my nephews. They are true gear-heads though. The older one has down right scary skills with his go cart!

My wife and I just had our first child, a beautiful little girl. Shes 2 months old. Never thought it could be so good!!!

Thanks again for the assistance!

At the verge of sounding like a total numbscull, how do I get the car car pic you resized as my avatar?
I've saved it to my hard drive and saved it on the board in my profile picture. But, under the edit avatar, it tells me I have no No Avatar Specified - The only options available in this section is one radio button that says, "do not use and avatar" and will not allow me to unclick it...
WTF am I doing wrong???

On another note here's a shot of my little Gracie...

She looks sooo cute and happy!
Now for the avatar. If you saved it to the board in your profile then right click on the pic and go to properties, then copy the address. Copy that text and paste it into your avatar. ----or----
Even easier you can just right click on one of the avatars I made, go to properties, then copy the address. Let me know which one you get working.

I think something in my settings got messed up (classic answer of the uneducated...) // really //. In the edit avatar, there is no way to unselect the one and only radio button in it. The pic in the signature is fine. Just want people to be able to see my ride. There are posers everywhere and putting a photo up gives a little more credibility... I'll link to my website when I make some progress on getting it running again. Ya know, the Dallas Summer and top down cruising in a black vinyl interior makes for a great torture device so I haven't missed it too much. Now the weather getting more reasonable and I'm itching for a cruise.

Hey Adam, just wanted to give you a quick shout for your car and your dedication to the board. You put a great deal of yourself into both and it shows. You have a lot going for you and I'm glad you share it.

If you are ever in Big D, look me up!

Well, now you have A HUGE avatar. There is something wrong with the .gif you are trying to load, I tried to link it as your avatar and it didn't work. So then I just tried using a regular pic, but apparently I forgot to resize it, and for some reason I overrode the 80x80 pixel requirement. Hmmmm. I would save the .gif to your hard drive and then upload it from there. Go to you USER CP, click edit avatar, click use custom avatar and upload it from your hard drive.

WOW i tried to link my avatar and this line came up about 10,000 times before i could close the window. Any idea? Warning: feof(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/virtual/site3/fst/var/www/html/forum/includes/functions_upload.php on line 119

This is a test to see if I can link from his site. Post the link to the pic you want and I can help you with it if necessary. This is only a temporary test and will be deleted. So far it worked. It will be deleted tomorrow.

Ok well that answers that. Looks like he must have just posted it wrong. Or he tried to put that link into his avatar box which wont work because the pics need to be resized.

TonyL
09-07-2004, 12:08 PM
most likely Adam.

when it comes to hosting pics there is only one place to look.

Imageshack. Imageshack. Imageshack. people. learn it. live it. post it.

it even tags the images for you so you dont have to figure that out!

maybe we need a sticky or something outlining getting avs working.....

CAMAROBOY69
09-07-2004, 12:13 PM
Good idea about the sticky for the avatars.

There's really no need to host your avatar. Resize it, save it to your computer and upload it from your hard drive. This is one of the great features of Vbulletin :).

TonyL

for some reason, i have been having a hard time with the upload feature though, in respect to avatars.
