Hearing a strange "moaning" noise from the right side of the rear axle in a friend's Mustang. It only happens when it's warmed up on turning. Diff is a '94 Cobra Traklock (new) with carbon fiber clutches, 3.73 Ford Racing gears, Moser c-clip axles, Cobra disc brake kit, TA Perf. diff cover and Shell 75w140 synthetic gear lube. Limited slip additive was used. Brakes don't seem to be dragging( as if the axle was a little wrong on length). Axle tubes were welded to the center section and no binding was noticed when the rear was assembled. Any ideas? Thanks.

does it make the noise all the time even when in neutral? Or when accel or deccel? If when all even in neutral look at the axle bearings. If under load only look at gear set or diff bearings. If only when turning it could be diff ratcheting.

No noise at all any other time, and only after the car has been driven a while. Rear is all brand new except for housing with about 500 miles on it since assembled.

Drove car yesterdayand pretty sure noise is from posi. Just never heard this type of noise; my eaton doesn't sound anything like this when it's noisy.
