does anyone know if you have to match the sizes on a waste gate to a blow off valve or the other way around ? im about to order my mpt70 turbo and was going to get a tial 38mm or 44mm waste gate and all i see is 50 bov's. i would also like some opinions on the size of the gate....38 vs 44mm.also what fuel management is everyone running on a 5.3ls. i have a 5.3 with a car intake and about to order 50-60# injectors and run either a z06 cam or a comp tu1 turbo cam. any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks joe

you need a large enough wastegate to control the boost level; larger turbos, more hp, larger cubic inches will need a larger wastegate to bypass enough exhaust to keep the boost in check. I run twin 44's on Tom Nelsons recommendation for my twin turbo LS2.

The bov (if single) is usually fairly large to allow enough intake pressure to escape when the throttle is snapped shut off of boost. I run a single 50mm, but many run twin bov's. Again, depends on the boost and power level, turbo size, etc. as to how big it needs to be. I didn't feel like trying to mount two of them so just bought a single large one. It's probably a little small, but definitely better than nothing.

that helps alot jody. i will run around 8psi but i want to be able to run more if i want so i would like to buy what i need now rather than later.also the fuel man. is still in question. i have been looking at the 5.3 fairmont setup alot on youtube, but im going to run a car intake instead.

For fuel management just run the factory PCM. It's capable of reading boost and adjusting the injectors as necessary. I've built a number of boosted LS engines and used the factory PCM. When I go to boost my LT1 I'll be switching to an LS PCM so I can register boost. The coil on plug ignition is a bonus for me.
