View Full Version : Changing water pump on '03 Silverado 6.9L?

Anyone know of any docs that show what all is involved in changing this water pump? I'de like to see what all has to come off before I start on it.

What 6.9? They only cam 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 6.6 diesel

I messed up, hit the 9 instead of the 0.

Hardest part is breaking the fan loose with is standard thread, righty tighty left loosie! Then hoses and (3) 10mm bolts on each side. Easy as an old small block water pump. Take the top of the fan shroud off...makes it easier. Super easy job!
