...Under the hood of a 1st gen Camaro?

I searched the site and couldnt get a definitive answer, and even looked on LS1tech. All I found was a few people saying they thought it would be too tall, and would hit the hood. (?)

Any first hand knowledge would be GREATLY appreciated!

It will but you may have to relocate the alternator with a kwik performance bracket. www.kwikperf.com (http://www.kwikperf.com)

Hey, thanks armourmark! That link is really helpful. Good to know there is a reasonably priced solution to buying a whole new accessory drive.

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I do have a 3" Fiberglass cowl hood that doesnt have any of the bracing that the stock hood has. Do you think the cowl might give me more space for the alternator?

You will have to relocat eht ealternator. You will also want to trim the brack of the alternator mount as the empty bracket will be kinda ugly.

It will fit. There is a green 68 camaro on ls1tech.com that is running a 6.0 with truck accessories. I am not sure what mounts he is using though. I know he had to notch a small piece out of his 2" steel cowl hood.

Here is the link, took me 15 mins just to find the darn thing!

Thanks Andrew! That link helped me find another thread where he posted a pic of his engine. He's also using the truck intake. I'll contact him through LS1Tech and see what mounts he's using.

Mine fits. I have a 5.3 4l60e and I have a 2 inch goodmark cowl hood. I am using edelbrock mounts with BB bushings and frame mounts. My oil pan sits on the frame so I am going to notch the frame a bit.
