HI all. I didnt want to make a build thread, cause i like to just take after pictures, not much for progress pics.
Anywho, its a 1972 V8 base nova, nothing special. I bought the car from maryland, sight onseen, just photos, and im very pleased with what i got.
Its all orignal sheetmetal car, new gm crate 350ci 290hp, new turob 350. Guy restored the car two years ago, and to my very high standards he did a very good job. My purpose for the car is to make a pro touring example, very clean, but not so clean im affraid to drive it.
Ive alreayd got a bunch of little this and thats on the way, and have compeltely dynomatted the interior.

Ive got a DSE Speed 2 Kit on the sway. Going to convert to a unistter Power rack, and going tyo convewrt to rear disc brakes also on the car. Rear suspension will get 3" drop leafs for now.

I want to get the brakes and chassis worked out this year, and enxt year im going to drop my Ls2 into the car with the t-56. Planning on Head and cam package, and a moser 12 bolt to back it up.

Alreayd sorted out the details with Bonspeed, and have my dimensions needed, however, im gonna play the safe route and wait till i ge the suspension in, and fenders rolled before i go order some wheels!

Feel free to leave some comments!
Onto the pics!

Im going to get custom plates for the car, and what something realted to old people, old things, or grandparents for the plate. The blue and vinyl is a grandpa combo for sure...so i wanna play off that look

neat. the vinyl roof novas were SO common; mine was a '70 that my parents bought new in '69, my brother got in '79, and I got in around '91. I was the one to finally remove the vinyl roof and get it painted.

that is some nice nova there, i just got a 72 too.

Question, how much dynamat did you use?
Is that the summit rear battery relocation unit?

Keep the good work and updating, as I am basically doing the same as you.

You've got one sweet Nova there. What wheels are you planning to use? I really like the color combo.

I was on the fence about painting and removing the vinyl top, but its really grown on me, and since getting the car and seeing how lazer straight the body and paint is...i may just keep it as is. Sure not alot of pro touring granny topped vinyl cars out there lol

Wheels are going to be Bonspeed Malibu's, finished with there aluminum type clearcoated centers. Already talked with bonspeed, jsut gotta wait till the suspension and brakes are on, that way the fitment is dead on. They are these, plus the special finish.

I did not even relize when we talked today this was the car. I loved it first time I saw it. This is absolutly the best way to build a Pro Touring car. Find one that is a nice sudo restored car, and mod it from there. Avoid paint prison, save time and money.

Those Malibus will show off the brakes very nicely. Thanks again.

had some time to play around with the height in the front end. I still have to do the brakes and set the alignment, so the ride height will change a bit.but i like how it sits now.

Order a few spacers etc, and some stuff for under the hood. In the spring its gonna need to be dialed in right, it runs mighty rich right now tho.

Also installed DEI BLACK spark plug boot covers...ditched the white(not in pic)
