I finally did the first long drive after the build and the rollers I have on there simply won't work. I know this gets asked every so often but does anyone out there make minilite type wheels in 18+ sizes yet?

I seem to remember Rushforth was working on something like this but haven't heard anything about it.

Yeah, the UK exchange rate blows...

Team III is supposedly working on 18" minilite reps. I am running theirs in 17". They are beautiful pieces.

Those are great. Disappointing Forgeline wont make them for mass consumption. I am guessing Agent 47 will only do mustang fitment?

Roger,

If I remember that was on the matte black Mustang @ Sema for the gents that do the Rapid Protyping? That's exactly the look i'm hoping for or something similar.

I would be disspointed if these dont go into 'mass' production. I bet there is A Lot of interest in these due to the big resemblance to the original Minilites. The only problem I think would be cost for most people.

Seems a bit time consuming to mill those round center spokes. I'm sure these aren't cast alum.

Justin - wake up buddy :) we'd like some pics! lol

So here is a little sneak peak into the new Lite wheel New Gen will be rolling out here shortly. The wheel is CNC machined forged 6061-t6 billet aluminum with all the finish options you guys have to come to expect! Sizes available from 17-22" diameter and 7-15" width!

Are you taking deposit for the new wheels? I'll take a 18x9.5 & 18x11 size! I've been waiting for a long time for someone to make a mini-lite style wheel.

Cliff, absolutely! We are very excited about the new Lite wheel. As far as sizes go, as with most 2 piece billet wheels, .5" sizes are not available. We could do a 18x9 and 18x11 for you no problem. Just keep in mind the anything over a 10" wide hoop would require us to send the hoops out to be widened for you. Give me a call at the shop tomorrow and I will put some prices together for you.

Yup! NewGen wheels is happy to debut our new "LITE" wheel. It is a rotary forged, 6061-T6 Billet aluminum wheel, available from 17"-22", in widths from 7" to 15", with HIGH caliper clearances built in to the wheel from .50" through 2.00". Bolt pattern possibilities include 4, 5, and 6 lug patterns!

The raw center Justin posted for you all is a 19" center, bound to be welded in a 19x12 hoop for a mini-tubbed Camaro. SWEET.

Finish options include Polished, Brushed, and powder coat.

New Gen wheels, is a partnership co. with Driverz Inc., and has nothing to do with Rushforth Wheels, or Jason Rushforth, but is a separate entity by itself.

We'll be posting again when the finish product is ready for photography and a formal press release, but we are ready to take deposits on orders NOW! :yum:

will all the diameter wheels have the same spoke shape? i.e. the spokes curving inwards from the center of the wheel to the hoop?

yes! that means better discounts for us. i'm kidding... or am i?

i know the 3D machine work takes a lot of time (hence, cost more) so i won't be surprised if this will cost more than your avg

All of the NewGen wheels are 3d machined, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the price point, and are very competitive with Rushforth, Billet Specialties, and other 2 piece billet wheels.

Same as the other NewGen wheels thus far, a 360 degree weld.

Nick

Yes, the center profile will remain the same as we are using the same center forging as the Decenio, Thrasher, and Splitter, for the "Lite". Incidentally its the same center forging as many of the other wheels we offer, Rushforth, etc., so the curvature of the spoke is the same as those as well.

Agreed. Yours look fantastic. I hope to run the same on mine but it will be nice to have the 18" option in the event that I can't get the 17" hoop to clear my steering arms in a 9.5" wide rim.

Any idea as to their timeline?

True,

Rumor and hearsay at this point. I do need to put in a phone call to them. Thanks to a little mishap (not my fault), I need a one new rear wheel... :banghead: I will ask him for an update when I talk to him tomorrow. I have considered upgrading to 18's as well for brake clearance reasons, so the info is pertinent to me as well. The added clearance would really simplify my caliper selection.

I prefer the 17 but would sure like to have the option if I need the 18 to clear my steering arms

I definitely do as well. I am really on the fence as far as where to sacrifice... Had my heart set on running AP calipers all the way around. The ideal AP front caliper as far as clearance doesn't seem to have a great match for the rear axle. I need to put in a phone call to AP and see if they can help with the situation. I like the amount of sidewall I have right now.

Sorry, the skinny ten spoke design just doesn't do it for me. IMO, it doesn't look much like a Minilite or a Panasport.

The 8 spoke design is closer, but the proportions still don't seem right on it.

^^^ Now that is what i'm talking about.

Jon - something to keep in mind, and I could be the minority in thinking this, the reason i like the minilites/panasports so much is because it preserves the racier look. once we go into the 18+ sizes I know race vs. bling is pretty much mutually exclusive but i would prefer if your new wheel looks more race than more bling. if you're wheels are within my budget (i've since raised my budget :)) then I want the centers powdercoated a matte color to tone down the blingy-ness. i'd say the rushforths, new gen, are a tad more on the bling side vs. the race side but not nearly towards the bling side as say the Asanti wheels. Yikes, those are just not my cup of tea.

my $0.02.

Keep in mind, that ANY NewGen wheel is available in ANY color you want, and in soft lip, AND step lip. And from 17" and up in diameters.

So, you can make it more blingy, or make it more racey, or, whatever you prefer! This is what makes the NewGen line so awesome, you can make these styles into any finish, size, and style you want, to clear whatever brakes, or suspension mods you may have made. Never before has a wheel like the "LITE" been able to clear a 6p, Baer brake on a 14" rotor, now, they can!

Price wise, if you can afford Rushforth, Billet Specialties, or Budnik, you can afford NewGen. Try us.....
