Hey guys long time no see..... 2 years in fact since I worked on the Duster. I'm getting ready to sink my teeth back into it, got a question. The inner metal of my hood, doors, trunk, the stuff between the inner reinforcement and the exterior skin has a fine rust coating. The stuff you see out west on sunbaked cars, no scale just a fine rust coat. How should I seal, and protect these parts of the car? Do I treat it like a fuel tank cleaner, ie the etching, the shaking of fine steel shot around inside it, and then maybe some Rust Bullet? Basically just rolling the material throughout the part until fully treated and then hanging to let excess drip out and cure? That is my plan, unless someone has a no fail better way to approach this. Thanks, Dan:6gears:

Are you talking about inside the supports or just the underside of the hood?

if possible use phosphoric acid. it will eliminate the surface rust and when it is washed off with water a phosphate coating is left behind to help prevent further rust, if your car is kept indoors it will work very well, if its outside use some por-15 or similar product to seal it up.
