Does anybody have any status on the 69 Camaro bodies?

Last I heard, they had 2 bodies at an auction, Asking price was $14,000.

I'm looking to start a 69 convertible PT project (mini tud, LS2, 6 speed, etc.) I'm planning on going through the whole car. I wouldn't want to pay the added cost for a finish car if I'm going to redo everything anyway.

I'm not sure if it's would be more economical restore a car with rust? (Replace floor boards, quarters, rockers, etc....) or to buy a new body.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

AL, the people at BJ were apparently trying to sell bodies, but had none to sell. There is a Licence issue that as of last week, GM has committed to issue licence rights, but had not yet issued. The licence is expected soon. We have a body ordered for inspection of spec, however do not know the price. Whatever the price, within reason, we intend to offer the bodies with various levels of completion with various PT mods, like Mini tub, roll bars, fitted panels, painted, rolling, running, etc.
You can send me an e mail, and I will get a update tomorrow and e mail back.

To answer you question, if the bodies are good, it will be cheaper to do a new body then a rusty repair.

Went to the Charlotte Auto Fair at Lowes Motor Speedway this past weekend. CARS had a convert body there with a 13K price tag on it. They also had a old hardtop rusted out car with a sign stating "Hardtops coming soon!" I asked the guy how soon, as he said should be by Oct-Nov.

I got word today the liscence will come though between the 27th and 29th of this month. I am hoping to be less then that price. I am amazed anyone is pricing since the deal is not done.

Man I'd like to do one of those one day, just hard to drop that much money at once :). But its a hobby so you gotta love it!.. I only like hardtops though so itd definatly be a while.. Hopefully they'll do a 68 sometime. I think I like those a little better.
