OK, I have an LT1 in my Camaro, and a 90 degree elbow on the front of the throttle body. What's the best position for the air filter? I've done a diagram of the places it could go, the red bit being a radiator.

So where would you put it? I've got it in position "C" at the moment,
I figured to try and pick up cold air from under the radiator. Every other LT1 I've seen has it in position A or B.

The other 2 positions are fine but they will be sucking in hot air unless you made a custom box to keep it away from the under hood heat. Just installed a LT-1 into a Jaguar and had to make a custom intake and ended up using diagram B

I have been thinking about this for months. I now have my radiator, fans, and rad hoses installed. Not much room. I don't like the idea of just sticking an air filter on the TB for it to suck in hot air. I'm not into just running ir over in front of the wheel well. Thought about running it like you have in picture "C", down underneath the radiator to pick up some cooler air. Not sure how it will do with dirt and dust.

You have to get the filter out of the engine bay if you really want to do well

get to the fender well or punch through the radiator support and pick up air before it goes through the radiator.
