What order to align body panels?

Before I take the car apart I want to make sure I can align everything to begin with. How are the body panels aligned? Doors to body then fenders to door then hood to fenders then the valences and bumpers? What is an average gap I should be going for?

3/16, to 1/4 inch is acceptable. Everyone has their own way of doing it. I do the doors to 1/4's, then fenders to doors(with header installed an aligned) Does everything line up now?

No fenders are off. but the door to to body is straight just excessive. maybe just under 1/2 inch and maybe a 1/4 at the fender edge.
