What a bunch of idiots.

I'll bet the complaining business owners never looked at the daily sales figures and put 2+2 together. Instead, they listened to the one or two complainers, and being an immediate gratification society, they bit off the hand that fed it.

Dumb.

same thing happened in my town. There was a HUGE gathering at a burger shop every week. And after three years of regular car club meetings on wednesday, and an unoffical meet on sunday, they asked us to leave because they thought they could get more customers in the store. He thought the crowds came for the food.

1 year later, the place is a Chinese food restaurant. The guy is bankrupt. We have a huge meeting at Ihop in Yuba City now, and Ihop loves it.

Yeah, it is lame. Business is way off. In this ecomony, you turn away customers? Jay Leno? Let the security guards, Olinn Security based out of Westlake, call people explosive names and scare them away.

Go figure.

We used to hold car gatherings at a local mall here in town, the mall wanted to charge the folks who were responsible for putting this event on, an enormous amount to let this continue. So...the event was moved to a nearby church with large parking lots and so it continued to be a "free to the public" event. The businesses in that mall cried and cried about the loss of income during these events and ponied up the monies for the car club so that it doesn't cost them anything to return to the mall to continue these "free to the public" gatherings of hotrods.

These same foreigners stopped the Christmas decorations in this mall after they purchased it and business dropped off to nothing and stores started closing and moving out. Now, the decorations are back.
