Im Considering extending the rocker panels . The look I am going for is a Flat smooth ground effect . The panel would extend form wheel opening to wheel opening and return parallel to the ground to the rocker pinch weld. If the current rocker is on a 60-45 degree angle mine would be much flatter maybe a straight 90 degrees or a slight angle at say 80 degrees, and the return to the pinch weld. They would be made of steel.

Thanks

Please post pics if you have seen something similar

Chip Foose designed some for Unique Performance a few years back. From your description I think this is what you are shooting for. As you can see, the rockers are extended below the car and fairly parallel to the ground. They were painted black so as not to interfere with the classic lines of the car. The idea is that the black would blend with the road and give the vehicle a low mean look.

hmm I can't seem to figure out how to insert the images so:

thats a bad pic but thats mine in mock up. more pics comeing tonight so just look into my build. project md. i had mine bent where i buy my metal and they did it for free. very east. mine weld to the top of the rocker and the seem then go down and rap around the pinch. pretty east except when you have to build the fender one. alot of welding and fabricating so you can actually take the fender off

I happened to acquire what appears to be some patterns for the rocker extensions from the Unique Performance "fire sale" that happened about two years ago in December. I have tried to attach pictures of what I picked up & bought out of one of thier CONEX boxes. People thought the rocker extension where " metal building gutters", but it was obvious from some marking on them. This can be seen on the rear quarter extension pieces. They were a pain to put on & required modifying the front fender to get the right depth as well as shimming the doors out at the bottom to match the "thicker" rocker width. Also, end pieces had to be fabbed as well as adding some cleanouts on the bottom so moisture does not stay trapped. I have the driver's side mocked-up, but need to do some work on my front tire clearance issues (tie rod fouling inner barrel) before I can set her on the ground.

Hope this helps.

Thomas
