I'm looking for a autoX/race tank (i.e. starvation free) for a LSx engine. I've searched and it seems the only options are:

1. Ricks Tank
2. Modified OEM tank (in tank pump & sump)

The Sprectra is only '70-73 and mine looks like this (GM203)

I don't see a tank listed at Tanks Inc or Rock Valley.

Am I missing anything?

I went with a modified stock tank for my car and after all was said and done it cost almost as much as a Ricks stainless tank.

Yeah, looking that way here too.

if you try to save money modding a stocker, it seems that what you save in cash you sacrifice in performance. I've got a modified stocker and if I get below half a tank things start screaming quick.

Of the conversion tanks I've seen, I like the one 'Mkelcy' did the best:

If you buy a new tank ~$300 (with shipping) and then a kit ~$250. Add the misc fittings and wiring it's roughly $600. If you can weld and have the tools, that's not bad, but if you need to farm it out you're prob looking at another $100 for a TIG job. For me $700 is enough to spend on a part no one will ever look at and doesn't make the car go or stop better.

anybody have experience with the DSE tanks? I'd like to at least know it actually cures the problem before I plunk 1200 bucks down on it.

DSE Stainless tanks are made by Rock Valley to there specs. A friend ordered one for his 68 and it was drop-shipped from Rock Valley. The quality looked pretty nice though.

Rock Valley tank here. The tank straps and the filler neck were all wrong for my Nova, but they fixed it to my liking free of charge including shipping the tank back and forth. They still maintained that their filler neck and strap measurements are :machine: "correct" for my Nova. But they stand by making their customers happy, and they made the correct filler and straps for me. It should work out great for a mainstream Camaro though.

I need a new tank. So it's either buy a repop and convert it or buy a custom made.

I called Rock Valley today and was told approx $700-750 for a new steel repop that's converted or spprox $1100 for a stainless custom made. The converted repop has a 7" round "spiral" sump section approx 10" hi that the pupm sits in. I was told that there's a opening in the front that under acceleration forces fuel to the back of the sump. It also has bare wires on the pump and needs connectors.

I think I'm going to buy a repop and a convert it myself. Thay way I can choose the pump, how it's wired and use the connectors I want.

I integrated a 4th gen pump into my 2nd gen tank. cost was very low. I was able to use my original tank. seems to work so far. I have a few extra 'hats' . just need to be welded together. no leaks as of yet to boot. then I have not filled the tank all the way up.
