This is soon to be the #1 supercar available... 100% Custom one-off build... LS-9 CRATE... Custom built t-56 w/viper tail... Art Morrison Subframe built into a full custom front to back frame... the frame is built to handle 1000hp... DSE Quadralink Rear End with 9"... 6 piston baer's all the way around... Custom Forgelines on all 4 corners (19x14 rear, 18x10 front)... Custom nascar type exhaust that will be running thru the frame and out the sides in-front of the rear rubber (rectangle tipped)... mirrors off of the 09 vette, doors are shaved with the 09 vette entry wrap-around handles being integrated into the door edge... 2" cowl hood with acrylic windows built in on each side of the cowl (to have a view of the powerplant with the hood shut)... lots lots more!!! BUT!!! the main attraction... A complete custom widening of the body (5"), 2.5" on each side!!! This car will be a true one of a kind!!! the rendering was done before the thought of widening the body... so when pics get up on the rendering, it will finish out exactly as drawn with the exception of the body being pulled out... Nothing will be standard about this one when done!!!

Cool looking rendering but I'm not big on the mirrors or the LS9 badging on the grill.
This is only my own opinion though. otherwise, i'm sure it will be a very sweet build.

What tire have you found that needs a 19"x14" rear wheel??? I didn't think the KDW2 made a wide 19" tire...
As far as wheel widths go... I haven't found ANY street tire that required a 14" wide wheel...
I wish there was... I would surely use them...
NICE project BTW... :1st:
I'm definitely interested in seeing how the wide-body turns out...
I think it's going to be REALLY cool... :smoke:

This is an awesome looking build. Can't wait to see more of it. I want to know more about the tires you are running. I'm running 19x13 wheels and the biggest tire I can find is a 345. I'd like to run a 355 on the rear but I can't find anyone that stocks them. Pirelli has them on their website but all the retailers say permanently back-ordered. Details please, size, brand, etc. Thanks.

Good luck with the KDW2's.... They only make up to a 295/30/19...
I've been looking for a set of tires for a c6 z06... 325/30/19 and even there tire selection for that size blows!

I hope this gets completed. I'm interested to see this widebody design completed. Honestly not sure how I'll like it but I'll wait patiently to see the final product. Good luck.

no pics of any future ideas... we decided on the wide body off the cuff... so we are planning it out as the build goes along... so far (knock on wood) we havent ran into any major issues... i guess with an excellent fabricator, anything can be fixed!

I did some looking and found a link to who is building the car with more pictures. I do not see a DSE Q Link but do see a truck arm rear set up. There are better pictures in the link.

What are you going to do for the grill? Are you going to add in the middle to make it wider? I guess you are going to make one out of billet?

He hasn't answered the question of why he's using a 19" x 14" rear wheel... In his rendering they show KDW2's... no such animal...
In the pictures shown on this link he has Nitto Invo's... The widest 19" tire is the Viper size - 345/30/19... recommended for a 11.5"-12.5" rim... I hope it doesn't give that "stretched" sidewall look... I could see a 13" wide rim but 14" has got to be pushing it...

In the pic it definitely looks like the Invo but the tire doesn't appear to be stretched. The entire reason I ask is on a 13" wheel, the 345 tire stretches just a bit, but a 14" wheel would be terrible, I think anyway. Curious to know if there is a new tire out there or if the wheel was narrowed from 14".
Different wheels than the rendering also, maybe the entire wheel/tire combination has changed?

Interesting dash. Wonder why they chose to go with a truckarm? Outside of the oooh-neat factor, seems counterintuitive.

My thoughts exactly... I sure hope he chimes in eventually and explains his first posts with the wheel dimensions listed...
Every year I hope someone shows up at SEMA with a wider tire available than the usual Viper size... Really, the only thing I've found that's wider and would use a 14"-15" wide wheel is a 21" rim (Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31)... I just consider the limit of a performance wheel (and one that would look right on my car) to be an 18"-19" rim... Maybe a new Camaro or Corvette could handle the 21" rim but not mine...
The Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 comes in a 375/20/21... it uses a 14.5"-15.5" wide rim... That would be PERFECT for my car if it would just have a taller sidewall (4-4.5" vs 3"), same overall height (26.9"), and come in a 18"-19" rim... and ESPECIALLY come in something stickier than a UTQG rating of 340...

we are planning to have the grille custom built (billet) and streched to the correct width... the rear will be dse soon... and the mirrors are from the 09 vette... currently working on the door entry system which will be the same as the newer vettes... also talking to mike at street & performance on the rest of our set-up for the ls9...

btw... the dash is from an impala that was fabricated to fit... originally wanted to do a painted dash... not sure if that's what we will stick with or not. will more than likely be going recarro on the front seats, and mike's custom back seat...

It's not that we're "wiggin out"... I spend a LOT of time scouring the internet trying to find the proper setup for my project... (Nitto, BFG, Hoosier, Michelin, Toyo, Pirelli, Goodyear, Firestone, Kumho, Yokohama, Avon, Sumitomo, Hankook, Bridgestone, Dunlop, etc, etc...)
When someone throws out some information that is out of the norm, like he has... and then seems to not want to explain what he came up with... we keep asking... thinking he hasn't read the post too thoroughly to catch the question...
I've only asked one simple question without an answer... I wouldn't have mentioned it more than once if he would have just replied... :)

It's actually a good setup if you know how to use it, especially with high hp motors...lotsa grip. Able to make turns too...Cup cars ran them for years...

I have talked to the owner about another project of his, just relized today it was the same person, Nice guy. I went and looked at the build pictures. I am sure he typoed the 14" wheels, looks like it has a 6" outer and 6" inner, making it a 12" wheel and looks 345s on it right now unless he is doing something different. No big deal, I told everyone Michael's Prodigy had 11s on the front for 3 years till I found out when I ordered the second set they were actually 10.5s.
Sooner, very cool build. I think the wide body will be cool if done right. I been thinking about it a lot, glad your the ginea pig, LOL!

To all the wheels replies... It's obvious i made a mistake on my typing since what was there isnt even in existance... Forgeline rims 17x10 front 18x12 rear Nitto z rested tires is what is currently on the car... The set-up will be 18x10 fronts and 19x12 rears before completion... We are working on the design of a complete custom one of a kind wheel if it doesnt get too insane on $$$... But we are going to wait for a final decision till the body widening is done so that the spacing looks correct...

I think the widebody would look good if done right, but the 10"span area behind the door is way too busy, too many pockets/vents/slots and exhaust outlet, that don't flow with each other in too crammed of an area, just my honest opinion
BTW ,Michelin makes a 355/25/19, I believe there is a 30 series tire out as well, my brother has 355's on his widebody Supra

The only thing I would change would be the dash..Not sure how you are going to modernize the squareness of the dash, does not seem to flow with the rest of the car. I think if you are going as far with this as you are I would find some late model dash to modernize the interior. Just my 2 cents....Cool car.

If you do want to change your dash, I would suggest http://www.hairyglass.com/ Their dashes are very easy to trim, weigh next to nothing and look really cool when upholstered or painted. Here's a pic of the one I installed in a Vette I had. I didn't paint mine. I believe it's the one they sell that is supposedly modeled from a 90's Camaro.

looks to be a very interesting build.
I too am not sure about the body widening. I personally would widen it down the middle to keep the proportions, but that of course would be a little more difficult.
