Mike and Bruce hit the road this morning for Vegas. I'm trying to update them on the weather conditions but don't always trust the reports online. Can anyone tell me how bad or hopefully not so bad it is?
They are hauling the Camaro and Fairlane to SEMA in a 50' trailer.
Yikes!

I'm front Colorado. I'm not sure about the Mountains (I-70 in particular if you're going to SEMA) but our other main roads aren't terrible on Denver corridor. They did a good job getting them cleared and mostly they're just wet. We did get about 20" of snow in the front range Denver/Boulder area. I'd think the main roads should be ok. Go to CDOT website. They have webcams of all the major roads.

They had predicted snow all day, but so far nothing and the skies are getting a little lighter as the day goes on.

The mountains got dumped on very big. Stay with major roads and all should be fine.

Good luck, Wes

I- 80 west bound is CLOSED just outside NEB border. I have friend trying to get in from IA on 80 right now. Most people are ducking off on 34 south or 76 heading into Denver.

Slow and steady and everything will be just fine!

Yeah, I80 is closed from the Neb/WY broader to rawylin, WY. I know the roads yesterday where crap just the 5 miles I drove on the interstate.

Not sure of I76 and I70, but heard the weather is heading toward the east and could affect both I76 and I70 east of Denver.

Mike and Bruce are stuck spooning eachother in a Holiday Inn Express in North Platte Nebraska - snowed in with all roads closed leading in or out. They are down to their last twinkie....
Anyone with a shovel please send help.
Maybe we will see you at SEMA

Sounds like they are traveling on I80, which doesn't go through Colorado. Nebraska is a mess right now, but should be clearing tonight and tomorrow. Wyoming will be messy unless they get plenty of sun. Wind driven snow and the high winds they get will make it an interesting ride if the surface ice doesn't melt off in the next 24 hours. However, the high altitude and clearing sky should clean things up quick.

My friend made it in this afternoon from hwy76, so must have opened up at Ogalla. Said it was nasty windy with some good drifts even though the plows were out. Good luck to the boys! Be happy they have not closed 70 west from Denver, so it should 95 MPH from Grand Junction on!

So the roads must have opened - and the story gets better - they blew a turbo tube and had to limp along for 40 miles at 30 mph. They got a hose clamp and are just keeping their fingers crossed.
To add a little more humor to this Mike with all smartness was looking forward to sunny Vegas and is wearing flip-flops. His feet are so small he's actually wearing my flip-flops. Seriously have you ever noticed how small Mike's feet are?

Hope everyone has a safe trip!
