So I picked up the magazine because it had a GTO in it
They put a newer GTO interior and drivetrain in a older GTO
Now what gets me is the article says its a 69 GTO, but if you look at the pics its actually a 68
It has a 68 front valance, 68 doors (vent windows give it away), and a 68 rear bumper (tails lights were embedded into the bumper in 68 and in 69 they sat between the bumper and trunk lid.
but were are some pics I took from My phone of the article

i watched west coast customs build that on tlc, they took a wrecked 05 gto cut the body off and welded a 68 or 69 body on it. i would never ride in that car, they had gaps the size of my hands and they just welded over welds to cover it. they said half way through the show that the frame was bent talked bout it 4 10 min, never said how they fixed it

From that engine bay shot it looks like they dropped a 68 body on a late model GTO chassis. Why else would it have strut towers? I think they have done this before with a late 60's charger.

My cousin saw that car when the dynoed it near the shop he works at. It is a serious cut and shunt job. I would not want to ride in it.

Thank you!! I was thinking the same thing the whole time..It's A 68 not 69. Sad **** and embarrasing that they didn't even know the difference.

It doesn't look right.
I had written a diatribe before, but I lost it and am too tired to repeat it.

yeah, I saw that TLC show where they built it; no mention of how they dealt w/ gaps, wheelbase, widths, etc. to just watch the show, someone would think you just cut one off and drop a new one down.
and yes, it's the same west coast customs from 'pimp my ride'.I had read somewhere that they felt the show gave them a bad rep and they are more respecatble than that, that they build real quality stuff. yeah, whatever.

Can we get past the big wheel craze already?

If you walked through their booth at SEMA, the quality really was not there. There are guys on this board that build higher quailty rides in their garages.
