Today is my last work day in the AF, been a fun trip the past 21 1/2 years but it is time to move on. I will say I have been able to do and travel around the world more than I thought I would (with one of the best jobs around). Retiring is bitter sweet but I have the oppurtunity to do the same type of job in the civilian sector (a job I enjoy). No guarentees on getting the new job, but if I get it I will have to move to the other side of the country. Either way getting out in this economy can be nerve racking but I think everything will work it out fine in the end. Now I have about 99 days off (leave/vacation) before the full paychecks from Uncle Sam stop, so it should give me plenty of time install some parts that are in boxes stacked in the garage.

I just retired (June 09) after 25 years in the AF myself. I took five months off (loved it and highly recommend it) and will be going back to work (civil service) in the beginning of November.
Thanks for your service and enjoy the retirement benefits.

Thanks for your service, and congrats!
If you are looking for a job don't overlook a professional recruiting firm. I've hired retired service guys from Bradley-Morris and have had nothing but good luck with them.

I remember when my enlistment was up, as a Senior Airman, looking at Tech and Master Sgt.'s thinking those guys were ancient. If I had stayed in I would have 19 years in now. It sure goes quick.

Congrats on making it to 21 years. I was only able to make it to 8. I had some decent assignments it was the orders every 2 years that did it for me.

Are you just separating or retiring? I took the $$$ and ran in 92. If I would have stayed in I would be going 26years now.
Welcome home and thanks for your service from an Ex-AFSP
