View Full Version : Dang now whats wrong,,,my shoulder is killing me,

Not sure whats up but it started hurting Saturday evening and got worse,now can barely lift arm.
This sucks wed was day off and couldnt do anything on Caprice.
And no insurance,so not sure if/when can go to doctor.
The bad thing is the little I had saved got sucked up by a couple of overdrafts cause people I pay dont cash checks in reasonable time.
Then recliner broke, i could fix it but without both hands its only gonna get worse.
And need to find gas(propane)supplier for winter,and whole host of things that could have happened when had more money coming in,had to all happen now.

I feel ya MonzA! Hope it is this nasty cold wet weather, and that it will feel better soon. My shoulders flare up like that, damn near impossible to hold my arms straight out and lift them up, at times. Yet, I haven't really noticed any shoulder pain since my back surgery? But this stinking weather really reeks havok on my back! Getting old sucks bro!!!!!

Do you sleep on your side or your back ? and is the shoulder that hurts the one you sleep on?

When I was at my low point with my cancer I had lost so much muscle tone and weight that I got the same symtoms you describe. my doctor called it drunken shoulder and said it is pretty/ugly common. He gave me some exercises to do and he sent me on my way and told me to sleep on my back or other side. He also told it would flair up from time to time until I rehabilitated it back to it's normal strength. After a week of excruciating pain and no sleep he gave me some prednazone and in less than 36 hours my pain was almost gone. What a difference steriods can make.

I also got total relief for about 36 hrs before the meds by going to my cousin who does cranio-sacro treatments. It was incredible and she hardly even touched me but when I left the pain was gone.

Goodluck with self treatment and Alieve's may help a bunch but he pain is really bad if you really do have drunken shoulder from sleeping on it.
