Got a cast block and some heads that I want to smooth out. So far seems like we are going backwards.
What tools, burrs etc do you use?
Pics?
Thanks

I have used several things, however what I found has worked the best is a small grinder a hard grinder wheel, then use a 90 degree air grinder with the 3M sanding wheels. I have done several blocks/heads now and this has worked the best for me. I also use a straight air grinder with either a metal burr or "tootsie rolls" for the tight areas. Good luck!

I've also used a Dremel tool with all the abrasive rolls that come in the huge assortment kit you get at Costco. I also used Stadard Abrasives head porting kit.
Here's the block after lots of hours smoothing and tons of cast iron and abrasive dust in the garage.
If you're familiar with a big block, there's usually a large knot or cast-iron above the timing cover. I spent a bunch of time grinding it down for a different look. The paint is POR-15 engine paint.
Dont know if this will help...shows them smooth and paint the block
