My cars named blue phantom because thats what everyone i know calls it, everyones heard of it but no one has seen it hit the streets in over 6 years, it gets worked on slowly because i have 2 other 80 camaros to work on.
This is what it looked like befor i took it apart again starting in 2004.

I welded and smoothed the subframe then had it powdercoated.

i coated the whole floor in herculiner.

did a wiper motor relocation and yes its tested and works with the modified linkage i made.

i also smoothed the firewall totally.

also had to replace the cowl.

Holy crap! That's the first I have seen of a second gen without the cowl on.

Love the blue. How much longer til you get it on the road? Overall goal? I like your work so far

more pics to come, the overall goal is a fi gen one smallblock and 5 speed or 6 speed tko trans, i would do ls1 swap but that is becoming all to common,when you can buy all the parts to put the engine in and everything associated with it the coolness factor is lost. Its gonna get repainted the same subaru wrx blue or the new honda civic si blue with some custom mods,im gonna delete the liscence plate out of the rear bumper and make it smooth, change the front side markers to a single lense like a third gen, and make the rear spoiler a little taller.vintage airkit and some custom interior mods.but thats not for a while longer.

next was time to minitub, i bought dse tubs and thats it i made the perch and frame notch myself the shackels are speedtech because they were 50 dollars cheaper.i moved the perches over myself and modified the gastank by cutting 2 inches out of each side and welding it back together. the shocks were moved inbourd and i made that myself also. the shocks on there are just temp.

i still gotta send out my coys to get widened from 9.5 to 12 inches, i would buy new rims but i dont like the flash of the 3piece or the billet ones, there all just to busy looking i like plain and simple with mods that make it look like it came stock on the car.

thanks, hopefully someday it will be back on the road, winters coming quick so it will be under the cover waiting for me till spring time.

looks great . I just got a 79 camaro . Are your wheels 17 or 18 ?

the wheels are 18x7 front and 18x9.5 rear, all 4 will be sent out to get widened, to 8.5 front and 12 inch for the rear. I orignally had 17x8 and 17x9.5 american racing 200s but they wouldnt clear the c5 brakes.
