My current fun car is a viper gts. I am selling it to build a new one. I plan to build a pro-touring mopar b-body to look and perform as good as that. I know there is custom coil over tubular suspensions, stiffner kits, 4 links, huge brakes, efi hemi swaps, 6 speed swaps, and all the other good stuff. But when it gets done, how well do they corner? I haven't seen any skid pad data or hard numbers for any of these after market company builds...anyone know?

THANKS!

well, your biggest disadvantage is going to be that you're starting out with a lot more mass than the viper--which means you're at an inherent disadvantage.

That being said, I know that a lot of the high-level camaro builds end up turing 1+ g's on the skidpad...I would presume that, as it is in many ways a similar platform (dimensionally, at least) that similar numbers could be achieved. I haven't seen any hard numbers, though.

Still--to make a car like b-body and have it perform as well as a car engineered from the ground up to perform...you're pretty much going to have to engineer it from the ground up to perform, too. Gonna take a loooot of work.

talk to the guys at xv motorsports. I'm sure they can give you numbers on their parts.

If you go all out and pay attention to your fr balance , weight and moments of inertia over 1G skidpad/braking is definately possible, I think that's right up there in viper territory. By the time you get to that point you'll probably have as much invested in the car as a new viper too.

Here's some hard numbers from a recent super-chevy article, once you get into the aftermarket suspensions and even full frame swaps a B body won't have trouble posting similar numbers.

xv motorsports would be your company for parts, or even a done car

I don't think it's unreasonable at all. I do agree with Wes though that you may not be able to do it with bolt-on stuff and may have to go ground up. I've got similar goals and am going the full chassis route from Art Morrison. Maybe you want to look into a full chassis for your project. Schwartz now offers a bolt-on frame for b bodies, http://www.schwartzperformance.com/news.aspx?newsid=33. I considered their chassis but they have nothing for chrysler A bodies.
