Hey all;
Been lurking for a few weeks, and really like what I see here. I'm going to be starting my first Pro Touring build - a '64 Cuda - Hence the screen name.
I've recently built a '65 Mustang, but it was basically a restomod. The 'Cuda is going way beyond what I did on the Mustang, and from what I can see, this forum is going to be a wealth of great info.
Thanks to all of ya for the tips and pics on your builds - they are priceless.

Yeah, I know! When you tell people NY, everyone assumes the city. Now I like the city, and am a huge Yankee fan, but saying "Upstate" just clarifies it as country folk rather than city folk.
Actually live in the Finger Lakes Region - Ithaca to be exact.

Sorry, was logged in under my old account - wanted to create a new one for the Cuda and will be using this one going forward.

Welcome to PT John. Saw you over an FABO, looking forward to your build. Have you decided on running the AlterK? What else do you have in mind for it? Good luck, throw up some pics when you can.
The rendering you have that inspired your build is sweet. Hoping that's the direction you go with it.

Hey thanks. Right now, I love both PT and FABO and can't decide which one to host the build on.
As far as the rendering is concerned, I purchased a numbered original from Eric Brockmeyer, and it just arrived yesterday. That rendering is going to be framed and hanging in the garage and I'm sure I'll be referring to it often. So, to answer your question, YES: my goal is to actually duplicate that rendering with the build.
At this point I'm probably going to go with the AlterK, but I need to talk to them in person to make sure I can get the stance as low as I want it with that setup.
The magnum force front end offers 2" lowering spindles, as well as a bunch more options which make it also attractable.
The car is coming to it's new home next week. I've already got a bunch of the parts in my loft, maybe I'll snap some pics of the parts and get them posted as the start of the build.

I'm not 100% certain but you may want to call RMS to find out which spindles he is using. If he is using a Wilwood spindle, they also offer a drop spindle which I "think" is two inches. It's worth a check.
I dig FABO myself, problem I have there is not too many guys into the PT style over there. My experience with the Mopar brethren is that the majority would much rather go straight for a pretty short period of time at awesome speeds, than do the same speeds on the curvies. To each their own however.
Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your build.
If you haven't already done it, check out this thread and help a brother out.
