View Full Version : what Coil over mounts?

i have global west control arms converted for coil overs by ats. im trying to figure out which coil over mounting brackets to do. im thinking the ATS ones. If i ge tthe ats brackets do i need to run an certain coil overs?

You will have to pull the engine to install the DSE mounts due to their alignment jig so I would recommend the ATS mounts.

ATS's website listed 2 brands with that coil over conversion. Bilstein or Penske. However I would assume there is a specific shock body / lenght to use to get the proper travel. I would try emailing ATS.

Hmmm. Why not make your own?? Its just simple steel plate. Then you get to make them to fit whatever shock mount you want. And I say shock mount but read spring pressures. Coilovers need some beef. But all the same. Its just simple plate steel. Make yer own and design some adjustability in the mounts. No reason to buy that stuff from a company, its just simple steel. It takes 10 minutes to cut out yer own mounts. Just a thought?? JR

Here is how mine were made. (Not by me, can't wled) This is on a 67 Chevelle frame... but it will give you an idea...
