Got the creek backed up pretty good, almost up into the shop....boss says he's gotta go. He has built several smaller dams up ahead of this one.

You'd better contact your local wildlife resource officer, or find a way to remove this thread. Some of those critters are protected and have more rights than you/us.
Grandpa has lost 200+ trees on his property to a family of beavers, this season. He hasn't found the dam on the river, but figures there is a feeder down stream that is getting blocked. The State has put out no-kill traps to try and relocate the beaver family.

I prefer the .22 magnum trap myself.

The state has always told us in the past to just shoot em, and that it is illegal to trap them even in one of those humane trapdoor traps. We have had families of these things every year, this is the second time this Summer that beavers have built on this section of the creek. The last time they built a doosey of a dam with 3x3x8' dunnage blocks that we use to block steel on our trailers heading to the jobsite. Had the creek dammed up under the railroad bridge behind the shop and it was deep.

A friend of mine use to live on a pond that beavers inhabited. They started cutting down his trees and he called our DNR and was told that the .22 trap would probably be most effective.

Happy hunting then. :machine:
Suppressed .22mag would do nicely. ;)
and that it is illegal to trap them even in one of those humane trapdoor traps.
It is illegal to trap without a trapper's permit, in Ohio. So we either have the State come take them or find someone with a fur trapper's permit.
