The LT5 is one of the most appealing pieces of metal from a visual standpoint. Flank it with turbos and wrap a 69 Camaro around the package and you are on to something. What wheels are you running?

wheels are 18 x13 on the rear and 18x 8 on the front with nitto 555 and drag radials on the back the rims are made by Forgeline true three peice. They make a lot of rims for the rolex series.

A little more about the car. The pictures you see are a total mock up camaro that had gone through a fire. The rear end is a four link system built by Detroit Speed and engineering with a Ford 9" with tru trax center section and 3.23 gears 13" disks on the rear. Detroit speed mini tubs also so I can get a 335 rear tire under the fenders. The transmission is the new 6 speed automatic paddle shifted tranny by TCI that uses a controller made by FAST. I am using two dash mounted touch screen digital dashes made by FAST one for the tranny the other for the engine.
I am rebuilding the engine with 4.00 steel sleeve bore making it a 368CI twin overhead cam32 valve with 16 injectors engine. Twin garret turbos 68 mm with a .8 A/R this thing should spool on the street like NOW! I am limiting the HP to around 750-800 at the tires on pump gas. Power steering (rack and pinon) with a electric power steering pump and of course A/C. Air ride all 4 curners. C4 corvette front suspension with 13.5 disks. Two seats out of an 06 corvette. I am sinking the front and rear bumpers just slightly no door handles and no rain drip rails. Carbon fiber l88 stlye hood with carbon heder panel and rear panel behind the hood. The carbon will have a candy clear coar car color over it so at a distance it will not look "ricer" you will have to be up on the car to see the carbon. This is just a slight over veiw of what I am doing.

Here are more pictures
here is the engine after the wrinkle finsh powder coating
The injector housing on the LT5 are very restrictive so There are pictures of the porting.
Since the lt5 never came with an automatic picture of the flex plate welded up and the new 8 hole pattern drilled in it.
I will dissassemble the block use the cyclinder holding/honing plate install the floating sleeves and hone the cyclinders and the balance it and assemble it will post pictures of that. Just to give you an idea of the cost of building an LT5 the main bearings are $1000 and head studs are 13inches long 14mm dia and are 1400$ a set. WOW!! whole different ball game than the old SBC and BBC

I am using stock cams. Cams are $3800 a set heck valve springs are 32$ a peice and you need 32 of them.

The LT5 is Chevy's take on the 4v per cylinder correct? Any way that thing is sick. You should start a build thread on it. Welcome to the site.

Mike, you may have heard about this on the other board. If not, one of the LT-5/ZR-1 owners makes outstanding gaskets for these motors if you ever need any.

sorta--heads were actually designed by lotus for GM, and engines were actually built by mercury marine, but otherwise, yes, it was a (completely redesigned, completely unique) DOHC 32v 350ci v8. Only dimension it shares with the other gen-II small blocks was the bore spacing.

Just for the record.

This build is super-awesome, by the way. Lookin' forward to more updates!

I am currently in california just left Vegas. So I am just checking this form in the last few days no internet. I found this fourm from corvetteform.com And a few people on that site told me topost here. So thank about the info about gaskets but already found him and head studs and many more parts needed. I will post more pictures and more details as I go along. i will post many pictures of the engine apart it is like a F1 engine in design WAY ahead of its time. I will post pictures of me honing and balancing it.
Also my web site is down and tring to get it back up. Thanks for moving this thread, Mike

I am fitting the sleeve heights now them glue them in and off to the honeing machine. Will post more soon. The camaro body is on the rotissery now taking it to my freinds plastic bead booth and spending a day blasting it underneath post pictures of that to.

awsome car just curious what type of engine mgmt. system are you going to use. I wanted to build one of theese a few years back. but could not find anyone that could make me a harness and make it run with 2 injectors per cyl. are you going to run the injectors progressively or ?what kind of boost are you going to run?keep up the great work and keep us posted.

No have been working alot so It is going slow. All the pictures I have been posting are the last 6 months of work. I will post pictures of the body that I am working on next. I am using a FAST XFI and XIM system for the engine management. 2 injectors per cyclinder is not that uncommon anymore. I will be running twin 42 lbs an hour ford injectors with a a triple Fore fuel pump system that has 3 walbrow 255lph in tank pumps will post pictures of that also. stay tuned!!!

Update been busy with one of my companies had to fire people and on and on.
So have put the engine together and apart 3 times. Checking clearances and such. Filing rings, Deburing ends of the cylinders after honing and WOW do these cylinders distort under a deck plate like an acorinan. I have seen twist on a cyclinder from head bolts but it is usally less than .001" with the deck plate on.On this engine I had to use all .005" the cylinders undersize to straighten them out! I will post pictures of the short block soon! Waiting on an oil pump seal broke the first one dissassembling the engine. Bought another and lost it now the third one at 130$ each ugh! carbon seal to seal the front of the pump off since all the oil goes thru the center of the crank weird engine. Thanks,Mike

As for the car I am building the engine now had it apart 3 times checking everything and checking and checking!! I am going to write a short post about my feelings and experance with assembling this engine and things that I have learned and that I needed to watch out for when putting this engine together just all the little things that I had to talk to people about and little things to watch out for.
I will post pictures of the body on the rotessery. Welding in all the detroit speed 4 link system with the ford 9" rear. It is about ready to apply the body filler now. Got the fire wall all smoothed out and roll bar in now. Took the whole front end subframe apart and mounting little brackets and such. almost ready to powder coat.
