Help. I have a new LS motor, but without any GM part numbers attached. It is brand new, and it came out of Australia from the GM plant down under. The number on the block is UF041211388. Can anyone help to ID...???? Thanks.

what number sequence is on the heads on the exhaust side towards the end of the casting. Might be 241, 243, 317 etc.

Most likely its an LS1 99-up with that head. Every LS block I have seen here has the liter size on the rear at the top near the bell housing area. Not sure if they differ from australia and if they mixed/matched different blocks/heads. Have any pics?

Nice project! I didnt know the motor was in the car. You probably cant see the area i was referring to due to the firewall. I see the accessories are removed, they would also help identify it. Probably an LS1. Is the block aluminum? It looks to be from the pics.

Is that all steel? It looks like you will have to Dukes of Hazzard to get into it.

Did you happen to see the back of the block before you put the engine in the car. It should have been cast with 5.7, 6.0, or 6.2 most likely. That would help you narrow it down.

Thanks for all the input. I am leaning towards a 572 crate motor at this point. Yes, it is all steel......doors are overrated...!!!!! I'm 6'5" and wanted to do something different. No back seat, no top, no side windows, tons of leg room....should be fun if I ever get it done !
