How can I attach these togeather? I want to use sheet metal to shave a section of my dash on my 61 impala. I am going to build a panel with guage pods but need to attach that to the pot metal dash. weld? adhesive?

I would use a two part panel adhesive like 3M 8115. I don't think you can weld to pot metal, can you?

I didn't think so either. I tried JB weld with no success already for the record.

Im not sure how much surface area you have, but pop rivets work well, and can look really good if you follow a decent pattern. Keep in mind not all rivets have to be doing work, meaning you can use some as decoration and the others actually attached to the dash. Also, some nice stainless low head cap screws work nice too.
Just another thought, again, depending on how much surface area you have, but 3M velcro works wonders. Its extrememly strong and the two sides mount with a really strong adhesive that sticks to just about anything.
