I was just curious as to what suspension parts and brands you are all running in your 59-64 Impala's? I want to update my '61 suspension and am looking around for ideas and advice.

I believe AirRide (Ridetech) has a nice setup for those cars with tubular arms and such.

Thanks oestek! Any one else with info or personal experience with different brands or ideas to use?

Parts as of now for my 63 SS are- C6 Z51 brakes w/ kore3 brackets, energy suspensions bushings, Hotchkis front sway bar, CPP 2" dropped spindles and rear track bar. Future plans are Global West springs and rear sway bar.

Does global west make a sway bar? Or did you just mean in general?

Global doesn't but not sure if I'm going with hotchkis. Keep us posted on what you use. Thanks

I can humbly [?] submit that this package simply rocks:

Install article for the front: http://www.ridetech.com/files_AR/techarticles/62_impala.pdf

And the rear: http://www.ridetech.com/files_AR/techarticles/58-64IMPALA.pdf

In addition we now have a modular swaybar for the front. I'll find pictures shortly.

I'll work on finding some video coverage as well.

We offer front and rear sway bars, rear control arms and an adjustable panhard rod for your B-body (http://www.hotchkis.net/search.html?Make=7&Model=1038&SubmitForm=Search), and they make a huge difference in the way the car drives.

Carson Lev's Redphin Bel Air (http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/redphin/vehicles/27079)has all our stuff with bags and it handles pretty well for a big car!

We have some options as well. The Currie Currectrac rear arms are the best thing going for the rear of these cars. Chassisworks has a new line of front tubular A arms that we can combine with our tall balljoints for improved geometry and better handling. Their lowers work with Varishock coil overs or Shockwaves/bags if you want to go that way. Both Chassisworks and Hellwig have swaybars for them as well. The Hellwig uses a very efficient design that lets you get better clearance and great performance out of a smaller dia. bar. Probably the biggest news in Chassisworks new 14:1 fast ratio integral steering box. No more slow ratio factory or 605 box steering. :) It even uses the stock manual pitman arm. Some of this stuff isn`t on the site yet but it is available. Mark SC&C

I was looking at the Currie and it looks real nice! Might be in the future for my 61. More info on your ball joints would be great. Do they work with the stock spindles? How do they benifit me? Sorry for the lack of knowledge but I am new to the suspension mods for performance, hence this post.
