My cousin came Mike drove from upstate NY to help me out. Made some roller to help move the car around . https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte025-1.jpgWe removed the computer.https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte0341-1.jpg Pulled out the yucky 305 and 200r-4 to make room for 355 backed by t-5 https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte050-1.jpg https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte044-1.jpg https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte058-1.jpg Pulled to motor out of the Trans Am (355 and t-5) https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte120-1.jpg The 355 and t-5 need to clean up. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte1231-1.jpg

Time to clean up the engine bay. Filling in all the holes in the firewall and prepping it for paint. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte053-1.jpg Making the the new mount for a third pedal. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte128-1.jpg https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte127-1.jpg The f-body pedals were 1" too short. With a little cutting and a little welding now it is is the right length and angle. Just a set fit before I weld it all up. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte131-1.jpg Well the f-body mount and pedal are finally finished. The clutch pedal hit the fuse box by about an 1/4" and I made the them about an 1 1/4 longer on the brake and clutch. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte129-1.jpg This is my new mount that I made from an f-body. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte149-1.jpg
This is the the mount I made . I cut the mounting bratchet off the f-body. Then I monted the g-body pedal mount to my bench. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte128-1.jpg Run a rod through the f-body and g-body so they sit the same way. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte127-1.jpg Place a piece of light angle and mark it cut and weld it. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte150-1.jpg Making the f-body pedal sit right was real fun. Here are some pics https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte138-1.jpg brake pedal added 1 1/4 and cut a relief to change the angle https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte136-1.jpg

After hours and hours of tacking and test fitting the clutch pedal is now welded. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte147-1.jpg All cleaned up and ready for paint https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte1521-1.jpg here is the brake pedal all welded up https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte1441-1.jpg Just have to paint them now.smile https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte1481-1.jpg Did a little work on the firewall today. Filled and welded- getting a little closer. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte155-1.jpg Also filled in holes in the chassis too. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte156-1.jpg https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/09/monte157-1.jpg Order the paint for motor. Looks like a cool project.
Only know one other guy who converted a 4th gen Monte to Manual, he used parts from a Malibu...

I found my pedals in the junk yard from an El Camino. There is no difference in the pedal bracket between the auto & manual versions. Only a longer bolt and another pedal, (and a bolt on bracket for the switch to start only when clutch in).
Looks good.
Is your T5 hydraulic or mechanical clutch?

I had some time to kill. It looked easier than it was. I had the f-body pedal and I didn't have any money for the car that week.

you might have had a hard time tracking down the parts. I had a '80 malibu w/ a 3 speed stick, there were some 4 speed cars also, but not many.
I'll be watching your aerocoupe build, always liked those cars.
