I'm not a transmission person at all so I haven't a clue about this stuff really. My customer in Denmark needs to make changes to his TH400. He needs a shift kit and for the trans to shift at 5500 instead of 4500. I know I can just go with hurst shift kit but can he do about changing the shift points? Is there a governor kit that gives you the parts necessary to do this? Whose parts are recommended. The engine is a GMPP 425 hp 383 also known as the Fast Burn 383. Rear gear is a 3.08 and the trans is a BOP TH400 that was behind a Pontiac 455.

Thanks

Adjusting WOT shifts is done by changing springs and weights on the governor. I think B&M or TCI make the kit you can use. I did it by simply grinding off some of the weights and putting it back together with some finishing nails where the pins go. You have to remove them to get to the weights.

Thanks critter. He knows how to do that to some extent so it is either a matter of him doing something like you did or supply him with a kit. I'll look into it. Thanks.

I've used the B&M kit before on a couple of 350s. Same kit works on the 400s.
