View Full Version : Ringbrothers GM Door Handles

Ringbrothers
09-10-2009, 01:17 PM
I received the first rapid prototype of the GM door handle today. Jim painted it and put it together for me. It's a two piece handle that bolts together. The outer piece can be finished to match the car. I beleive it will be a direct replacement for most GM models from 1963-1974. Of course we will fit it before we sell it :)
Machined out of billet aluminum.

We are moving ahead - I don't have firm dates yet but will update you as soon as I do.
The pictures are of the plastic prototype painted - the real thing will is going to be amazing!
Have a great night!

just a question: what are the screws on the exterior for? they look cool as hell, but i'd be worried someone might try to unscrew them and steal the car or door handles. just a question

StaciIf they are like the Ford handle, they are a changeable insert to give the handle different looks. Those are definitely bitchin and will be going on a current project as soon as they are available

Ringbrothers

We made it a two-piece so that people could finish it however they wanted. The bolts are part if the design that will hold on the second piece that can be manipulated however you want.
Glad everyone likes it!

Staci - I believe he is asking for a Group Purchase deal. Also known as a "GP". This is where forum members subit enough orders (say, 10 or more orders) get a discount (say, 20%). This encourages bulk purchasing, and therefore reducing the cost of the parts to the buyer, and increasing sales for the vendor.

**Edit** I see you are familar with the concept. From your previous post, you seemed to think a GP was a model of car. :)

if you would like to get in on the GP, pm me with your name, address and items you would like to purchase. i will submit the info to her at the end of the GP at which point you can contact her and pay for your items.

also, if we can get 25 people, they have offered to throw in free shipping. this is just as good or better than an additional 5% in most cases.

the door strikers will fit your chevelle without question. staci's still waiting for some feedback on the hood adjusters for the chevelles. i dont have a hood, or fenders for that matter, on mine right now, so i cant measure which hood adjuster would work. the short measures .875" at the shortest "collapsed" installation height, and the tall measures 1.23". both are 1.8 fully extended.

The 69 Camaro hinge will work on the 66 Chevelle with a slight modification - you have to dimple the inner wheel fender. We are working on a new design that will make the hinge work as a direct replacement. We are a ways out on it right now.

the dead line I think is Wednesday the 30th @ midnight. I'm guessing that's pacific time for Tim. We need only a few more people to get the free shipping, there has to be some people that need their products. Please open your pocket books and give to a good cause.

Will those hood adjusters and strikers work on a '56 Belair?

The WidowMaker
09-29-2009, 10:35 AM
from what i have found, the short hood adjusters will fit gm applications. staci posted that the strikers wouldnt fit a 55, so i would assume not a 56 either. maybe she will reply.

are there any pictures of these handles mounted on a door???

They have been mounted on a door but I didn't get pictures - all that I have right now is the plastic prototype so it wouldn't do much good to show a picture. I should have machined samples before SEMA - as soon as I get them I will post pictures with them installed.

Camaro2nv, does that mean that you are in if we do have 25? We are so close that we need everybody's help.

kiwipip, i have a call into staci, but i wasnt able to call until they were closed. i should have an answer for you tomorrow a.m.

i also talked with camaro2nv, and hes in if we hit 24. so that means that we only need 3 people to hit 25 as long as kiwipip stays on board.

i sat down tonight to start getting all of the info organized so i can pass it on to staci. i sent a pm to a couple of you for some additional stuff i was missing.

heres the tally
20 - have sent info
1 - 69496 is supposed to be sending any time
2 - originals, cread01 and lmdguy still havent responded to any pms :spank2: . at least tell me no.
1 - will make 25 when we get 24
1 - protouringrscamaro, edit... responded, see next post
2 - were still waiting to get back to me

and then there were at least 7 more that wanted install pics or had questions that needed answering.

so with all that, if we can get 3 more confirmed, we'll be at 25!

Will these door handles fit a 66 Cutlass?

Lee - I just sent you a pm. Do you know if the 66 Cutlass has the same handle and mechanism as the 69 Camaro? If it doesn't then I would need to send you a prototype to see if it will fit. Email me at [email protected]

Thank you everyone!!!

Looks like you guys need one more to hit 25. If so, I'll buy a few things :) Just out of curiosity, which hood adjusters would fit a '67 camaro? The standard, or short?

I am working on a 1965 GTO. Had one in high school and dated my wife in it. That was 42 years ago. We have a 32 Ford street rod and a 62 Impala SS. The SS goes as we start to PT the GTO. I will send photos as we go.
