View Full Version : I Spread The Pro-Touring Gospel Yesterday

Took the Mustang to a regional MCA show in Ft.Lauderdale yesterday. (The car is finally done! :bananna2: ) Weather was crappy for a while, but there was a decent turnout (about 150 cars). Anyway, the car was a complete hit. I could never leave to look at the other cars due to the endless stream of questions and complements (not that I'm complaining - it was extremely flattering.) Everyone wanted to know about the suspension, brakes, drivetrain, how I got the wheels to fit, how I got it so low, etc... even the old guard resto guys were interested. The statement I heard the most was how much they liked the combination of modern performance in an old car. Of course, I had them all look at the back of my shirt, telling them about this site and our little subculture dedicated to that goal. PLUS, I ended up winning first place in the Modified class, beating out an insane Pro Street '67 Fastback that runs 7.50s in the quarter! Some people get it! :1st:

Congrats on a successful showing. The car looks fantastic, so it's no wonder it was a hit. Certainly all the excellent coverage the media is doing on modified classics is getting out there, but cars like yours put it in the public's lap, which is great! Maybe what Larry needs is some calling cards for folks to hand out at shows... Or maybe we'll at least get a Mustang version of the sticker so we don't have to have a Camaro on our Fords...
BTW, I know it's Miami and all, but the shorts have got to go... :wedgie:
you know, pink supposedly is back in fashion :)

But gray would have matched the car better. Sweet Stang, need more of them on this site.
I have always had luck wearing pink, I think it gives women the impression that I may have less hangups/insecurities than most, or that I am very secure with my masculinity. Whatever it is, it works!!!

HA! You guys are really getting a kick out of the shorts, eh?
Pink Is Good! The Women Like It !
Datsbad is right on, though. You wouldn't believe how many comments I get from the ladies on campus when I wear those to class. :naughty: Of course, driving this car doesn't hurt matters either.
Haberdashery aside, thanks for the compliments. As nice as the show win was, I can't wait to get this thing on a road course. That's what it was really built for.
-Brian (comfortable enough in his masculinity to sport pink clothing :rolleyes5 )

What pink shorts.............oh, wait, I forgot my monitor is screwed up :comp3: Don't feel bad, my wife is always trying to get me to wear stuff like that. She's come close a few times.
Fashion aside, your little notch back looks awesome, and that's on a screwed up monitor. Keep us posted on any track results, especially lessons learned on the track.

Nice car , really has the trans am look . I want to do the same hood blackout but thats the only part of my paint thats flawless and I can't bring myself to paint it! the car also sits nice and the color is not common.
How about some flat black shorts?

:icon996: :icon996: :icon996: Congrats Brian. VERY NICE! Awesome car. It is cool when others in car shows realize what we are trying to do and accomplish with our pro-touring cars. Once it clicks for them, its definitely an onslaught of questions headed your way.
