hey guys...been lurking in the shadows for a good while now but have decided now is a good time to ask a question...i've read a bunch of threads but none really tell me what i needed to know...

if you get hubs and axle ends repatterned, how do you get the rotors to match?...have them tig'd then redrilled?...wouldn't that mess with the design characteristics on top of making them annealed and prone to damage?...i have an Isuzu space cab project and they come 6 lug but i have been told the toyota of the same vintage will work for the front as they use basically the same design and exact same bearings...the rear is my problem...i have the factory disc setup on my rearend now and i know i can get the axles done but what about my rotors?...how would i go about cross-referencing rotors for a retro-fit...

I redrilled my rotors myself using a pattern from a wheel balancing machine plate.

should any "competent" machine shop be able to shorten and respline an axle shaft or do i need to take it to someone that specializes in driveline components?...i have a machine shop that has been in business here in Oakwood for a LOOOONG time and i trust his work greatly but i dont know if this is something they should do unless it's just cut and grind and no heat treating, hardening, etc...should be able to machine the axle ends too for the studs...

Any machine shop should be able to change the bolt pattern for hubs and rotors. If you needed axles worked on like resplined or shortened, I would be talking to somebody like Strange.

Moser Engineering best axles on planet for the price, next choice Summer Bros.
After shearing 5 sets of Strange axles at track I wont even LOOK at their axles anymore.

i dont wanna buy new axles as mine arent bad, just wanna know if my factory shafts can be shortened two inches on both sides with same spline pattern...not planning any major performance numbers since this is a minitruck with a stock 350...not wantin to burn tires or race, just look good and be reliable but i figure you guys deal with this more often than minitruck owners do so i posed the question here...its an isuzu pup so the rear is styled similar to the 9 inch ford as it has a solid housing and a third member chunk...thats why i ask if the factory shafts can be used since i highly doubt moser or strange makes isuzu shafts and not for the price i can afford...

Yea, I'm sure they can be shortened. Those companies most likely offer that service. You just need to give them a call. Then give me a call for the rear end fluid.

Not all axles will accept new splines after being shortened by 2", some of them neck down right after the splined portion and can't be cut for new splines.

Give Moser a call and see what they can do with your axles, fast turn around and great quality work.
