I'm wanting an wagon to play with and found 2. 1) 77 malibu estate with 75 Laguna S3 frontend or 2) A 69 kingswood ( impala). I'm thinking a 427 SS 6spd wagon. Both are about the same money and shape. Thanks for your input.

The Malibu with Laguna front end. I have been wanting a Laguna since I saw the red mid 70's Chevelle here in the Multimedia section that was tucking 305's without a minitub job. That is on my list of cars to pick up. I also liked the concept of PHR's Talladega, but the execution wasn't there for me. The stance was all wrong.

Malibu with Laguna front-end. Get ahead of hobby. Impala wagons are for the over 60 crowd and style wise on the way out!!!

Yes, Malibu w/Laguna front.
I've liked that body style for many years.

I think the hardest part about the malibu will be finding the manual pedals.

I like the Malibu/ Laguna(Malaguna?) idea. This came from Lat-G. I think Don nailed it. Would look good as a 4 door wagon as well.

Agreed on the Laguna. The slant nose would be even meaner.
It's gotta be lighter than the Impala, and hopefully a shorter wheelbase too...
My '67 wagon is fun, and a good pal of mine now wants to build a '75 Laguna 4 dr wagon. It's cool to see this post!

That has my vote 4 door, 6 door whatever, it is cool.
A friend had a Malibu SS, and it still looks cool as hell, not many of those on the road.

I got the coolest news today! My dad still the s3 dash, buckets, console, and 4spd stuff from the car that the nose came off of.

Do the buckets swivel? Some of those era cars had swivel buckets.

OK, The rendering looks great, but I don't remember a two door wagon. I don't see putting the money into one of those cars to swap it from a four door to a two door. You would be forever upside down in it.

I went and looked at the 77 this am. I've junked nicer cars in the early 90s. But I did find me a 2 owner factory 73 Laguna wagon. It should be home by thursday. I'll post up some pics soon as I get it home.

That doesn't surprise me, I started looking around at these Lagunas lately and I haven't found one that had a single body panel without rust, much less full on rot. Keep us posted, I think this would be an awesome project.

based on size I would got for the Laguna for a PT car. the Impala while cool as hell just seems too large.
buy them both?
Malibu for the PT and the Impala for a tow rig/cruiser?

I bought a 73 laguna wagon. Should i leave the 73 nose on it or switch to the 75 nose as planed for the 77?

As much as I like the '73 nose, I think a wagon with the '75 nose would be badass

I like the late 70's laguna front end! Let me know if you want a rendering of what the car could look like finished.
