Hey guys,

The registration form is now open for the first annual Pigeon Forge event. This is the first official event for Pro-Touring.com and we hope to continue to hold future events elsewhere in the country. Saturday's drag racing session is being held at 411 Dragway.

In honor of this being the first event, there is no cost to members for the tour of the Floyd Garrett Muscle Car Museum on friday night (June 24th), and drag racing on saturday (June 25th) is also at no cost to those who attend.

If you're looking to meet some of your fellow pro-tourers, race or cruise your car, and see some awesome pro-touring cars in action, this is the best place to do it. Hotel and track information is located on the registration form as is the event schedule. The event schedule is also here:

Hey Everyone,
It has been brought to my attention that some may think they have to bring their car or that their car has to meet some criteria to participate at the event. Several of those coming are not even bringing a car. If your car will make a cruise of about 25 miles, is licensed and insured, it qualifies. Whether it is 50 years old or 2days old, we want it here. There will be a very basic tech inspection at the drag strip but if you have seatbelts and a helmet you will be ok. Basically IHRA rules are in effect as far as roll bar issues and whatever but I feel anyone in those classes already know the deal. If you think your car is fast enough to need a cage, pm me and I will let you know all the particulars. One day we may set some guildlines but with this being the first ever show we just want you to come. It will be a hoot just to meet everyone and have a ball at the drag strip, cruise and even at Floyd's place. So come on, sign up and look forward to a great event. Who knows, there may even be something special for the participants of the inargural event. :naughty:

Has anyone noticed the banner about the event? How about the Autometer logo in the banner? Could there be a connection here somewhere? Why would their logo be in our banner....huh....
Well, lets just say there is a very good reason- stay tuned...

We could make it a random Pro-Touring meet. A different location each year.

Michigan is represented well on this site and I would gladly do the leg work to get it organized. Actually....Pennsylvania would be a better choice for all the North Eastern/Mid Western members. This years event takes care of the Southern States. You could do one in say Arizona or Nevada for the West coast people. Then you do 2 in Canada. One in Alberta and the other in Toronto. Minnesota and Texas I think would need to be included...lots of members in those areas. Of course, it wouldn't have to be all in that order. Then you start up again in Pigeon Forge.

2005 - Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
2006 - Pittsbugh, Pennsylvania
2007 - Las Vegas, Nevada
2008 - Minneapolis, Minnesota
2009 - Toronto, Ontario
2011 - Dallas, Texas
2012 - Calgary, Alberta

Then you start over.

We have a fairly good group of people committed to coming. I need to remind everyone that the 20th of this month is the cut off for the block of rooms we have at the host hotel. Be sure and make your reservations now because it is hard to find rooms here in June. If you have any questions, please pm me or call me at 865.850.8228

I think at the moment we have about 20 cars and 50 or so people lined up to come. That should be enough for us to have a great first event and also the bragging rights of attending the first ever protouring event.
We have plenty room left though for anyone who still wants in.

The dash plaques came UPS today. They look better than the picture above. Allen and company did a great job on them and actually got them to me early.

Cheap plug----> If you need any thing of this nature, pm Allen. I will do business with them again. :icon996:

Seriously, they are nice and remember the only way to get one is to attend to show! It is getting close and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Bill Howell

Jim,
I am working on that now. We have had a few additions in the last few days with the interest on a couple magazines now and I am trying to get a couple other cars involved before I post the list. Not everything will be true Protouring, but we will have a blast never the less. I will try and get the updated list posted this weekend.

Mightymouseman,
Come on down, whether you have your car ready or not, I promise a good time.

Bill Howell

As of this afternoon. we now have 3 different magazines that plan on either attending or looking to us to get them some pictures and a story.

Dustin,
We will be at Floyd's Friday night around 5:30. We would be glad to have you join. Let me know how many tickets to get for you. We will be at 411 dragway in Seymour Saturday between 8 am and 2 pm. Come enjoy the fun and fellowship. You are welcomed to join in on the dinner and cruise too if you like Saturday night.
Call me at 865.850.8228 for any other info you might need.
BTW Cosby is such a cool drive from here, we will probably drive in that direction next year for the cruise.

I'll try to give you a call early next week to see how our week is going to go. We should arrive in Cosby in the early afternoon of the 20th.

We won't make it to the track as my daughter is only 10 months old and doesnt need to be in the heat for that long, but I would definately like to meet at the museum (havent been in a while) and drive with you guys through the mountains. I'll have to see what my wife thinks about dinner with the group.

Freaking idiots..... aaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h
Probably talked with someone non familar with the deal. The deadline has passed for the discount, but they still have rooms, or at least they did Monday. If he calls back over there, tell them my name and if that doesn't work, tell them to ask Bill Maples(owner) about my deal. I BET that will fix any problems..........
Sorry,
Bill

I need to post a picture of it. It has a 350cc engine, different rear gear and 10" wheels as opposed to 8". Police clocked it at 38 on the parkway. Fully licensed and insured. Might be a tick slow at the strip though-LOL
