Im in the process of replacing the incorrect master on my car. it had a Disk/Drum master on it and I'm replacing it with a drum/drum master. upon removal of the master there is a rubber bushing between the master and booster. It does not match the new one that came with the new master.
I posted on an olds forum and it was stated it might be for a car with manual brakes. the one I have is slotted allowing the brake fluid to run out between the master and booster to keep it from going in to the booster and ruining it. Is this correct? can I just clean and reuse the bushing already on the car?

and yes, I have drums all around on my car. getting laid off and then going to work at Walmart sure puts a kink in the budget....
