I have been going a bit crazy here lately! I don't remember if I mention this before, but my wife and I are in the process of fixing up our house in preparation for a move to Tennessee. At the same time, we've also been packing up all the extra "stuff" you need to get out of the house so it can be shown. Needless to say, this has been rather time consuming!

On top of all of the above, I have also been working on my father's boat, which was stored here at my house. We finally got it all done, and towed down to my parent's home in NC.

As you can see, it even floats!

After all of these projects, it's finally time to work on the 'bird. The last couple of days I have spent my running stereo wiring, and installing my new dash cluster (with 140mph speedometer). While I had the cluster out, I converted it to red lighting. I also installed an analog clock in place of the digital one.

For the stereo I went with a 2-din Kenwood with integral Garmin GPS. This is backed by all new MTX speakers and subs, driven by a couple of old Fultron amps I had laying around. Sounds damned nice, and without too much cash outlay!

Interior pics are so hard to take! Anyway, here is the new dash pad installed, along with a bit of the new cluster and headunit.

Another shot of the headunit. This thing is so cool!

Today I hope to install my black headliner and trim, after I tidy up the garage.

Looks good Bill. Have you been on the road with the Kenwood yet? I'm curious how good/accurate it is, I know Garmin stuff well and know it's top of the line. I'm torn between the Kenwood and the Pioneer but likely leaning towards Kenwood because of Garmin.

I haven't gone anywhere with it yet as the car isn't quite ready to drive. I got the Kenwood because of the Garmin (I also have a mobile Garmin) as well. I know it linked up with the satellites very quickly when I first tried it. I hope to be on the road early next week, and if so I will report back.

I did a bit of research before buying the Kenwood (they aren't exactly cheap, are they?) and the Pioneer was one of the ones I was looking at. I found several negative reviews of the Pioneer when it came to their navigation whereas the only real negatives I found on the Kenwood was with the Bluetooth.

I had that same unit in my wifes FJ Cruiser and loved it. I thought it was easy to use. The nav was pretty accurate. I really liked the ipod screen too.

What else does it need before it's drivable? Props on the head unit install, looks factory.

I need to do the exhaust (3" from the Turbo back), check the suspension, finish installing the interior, figure out what the last hack, eh, I mean "owner," did when he wired his "custom" gauges so the factory ones will work again, and diagnose a check engine light (has a TPS Low code, and probably needs a TPS). :nopity:

Oh, then it needs a MD inspection and a good wash and wax.

And during all of this, I need to finish the master bathroom before the in-laws get here next weekend. :Alchy:

Did I mention we're going to France on the 4th? :hammer:

I think I need to get my head examined. :rotfl:

And the work continues...

Replaced the bad oil pressure sending unit, and hooked up the temperature sending unit the last guy left disconnected (from when he tried to hook up his own gauges).

Replaced the TPS and calibrated it (yeah! No more Check Engine light!).

Installed the headliner, parcel deck, rear interior panels and rear seat. Installed both front seats, and wired the new rear view mirror and driver's side vanity mirror.

I hope to have everything done except for the exhaust before we leave for France...

We leave Friday.
