Ugh...

So I just got off the horn with VWW on their 18" line. Unfortunately they are having problems getting hoops... so still no 18s yet. :machine:Maybe the end of this year.

I even tried throwing a down deposit their way, and they wouldn't accept it. That's never a good sign.

Yeah, they've been working on that for awhile now! I wish they would get them out because I'm sure they would look amazing on a bunch of different cars!
I love them in 17's I can't wait to see them in 18's!

I'm right there with ya John. I have a problem because I started out with 18s. Once you go big, you can never go back to a smaller wheel. :)

I'll still wait though... I'm a sucker for their classic look. Should look bitchin' on my Nova.

dozens of wheel vendors out there and who knows how many hoop makers......and they're having issues getting 18" hoops?

seems odd, I'm just sayin'

Yeah, it does seem odd. The guy I got on the phone claimed that even competitors were calling him up to get hoop stock, because they couldn't get any. :bsjerk: Whatever...

All I know is that I absolutely must have their V40s in an 18"... but bugging them for the last 8 months is getting old... :banghead:

Hell, at this point I'd be willing to fly to their factory and personally supervise/facilitate the process.

I've been told the major US hoop manufacturer is in bankruptcy......so I'd guess most wheel companies will have trouble

No actually that is a good sign...shows that Eli & Rusty are men of their word and won't pad their bank accounts unless they have product they can deliver...wish more vendors had morals like they do.

Keep in mind guys, they use a step-lip,not a fat lip on their wheels and combine that with hoops always being in short supply causing delays in wheel shipments might explain why they're having difficulties getting this product to market.

This 18" line has been discussed for 3-4 years now so this isn't an overnight development.

Really? That sucks... I need these wheels to get my car on the road. It runs, and kinda drives, but my shop rollers (18" IROC knockoffs) are bent... so its like riding a bucking bronco. :slap:

I also don't want to dump any money into the IROCs to straighten them. At a straightening cost of $100/each, I might as well buy new wheels, and buy the wheels I want.

I really, really hope they can get the 18s in production before the end of the year.

Maybe you could consider using these wheels, they are available in 18" and look similar to the VWW

Thanks for the suggestion, but 4.5" of BS isn't enough for the rear on my Nova. Need to go 5.25 or 5.5 (rear discs).

One of the big reasons I was stuck on the VWW is they actually offer BS options, where most cast wheels are stuck with 4.5" BS. Works great if you have a 2nd or 3rd gen Camaro, or Chevelle... not so good for a Nova. :hammer:

Wait just a second... maybe I spoke too soon...

What does that front side setting, back side setting stuff mean? They spec out their wheels in a odd way...

I think you could just refer to the "Back side spacing", which is how most wheels are listed

I have been considering these wheels for my camaro; I like that they come with a billet caps, as opposed to plastic caps. Also like the wider spoke.

Anyone else using these Classic Fives?

Team III offer many backspaces, in 1/4" increments I think. So they can build what you need.
They even had a prototype "mini lite" 18" wheel a couple of weeks ago that one of the guys on the corvette forum saw.
