I am not sure what's up with #1. It might have fouled or I may have a bad wire. It's just not running right and for now I am running it rich so, I thought I would just swap out the plugs and see if that made any difference. After I post this I will take it for a spin and see if anything changed. Oh, I used Autolite 3923's

You have some major tuning or a new intake in your future before the optima challenge. Sorry budro...... Your leaving a ton of drivability and power on the table with those plugs readings.

Hmm.. waiting to hear about the run with the new plugs. For what it's worth, I like NGK plugs... even the cheap ones make killer power. We did a swap on a supercharged C5 Corvette from Bosch Platinum to cheapo NGK plugs and picked up nearly... get this.. 60 HP on the chassis dyno. Only change was the plugs and a slight cool-down. Wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't there to see it.

Sounds like you had a semi fouled plug for spark plugs to make that much difference.

I don't doubt that the plugs were trashed to begin with, but it was impressive none the less.

o.k.. swapping the plugs made a big difference. I am still working on the tune and I will probably be pulling the intake and sending it to TWM next weekend. I just can't get all the throttle bodies to open at the same time or stay adjusted.

In the end there may be a new manifold in my future.

I think you'll be much more happier. I know what you have on there now looks trick but sure seem to be giving you headaches.

Agree. I think its cool, valiant, differient and unique to have the 8 Throttle bodies. I am sure alot went into making all the custoem plenums, linkage ect. But wne you put a sinlg throttle body on that car get it tuned you will be glad you went single.

ill say it again AUTOLITES SUCK. if you gotta run a specific number try crossing to AC Delco or Motorcraft or NGK Iridiums, heck even Denso are giving me great service in some engines.
Top 3 plugs with issues:
Bosch single and dual electrode paltinums (never had issues with supers or platinum 4s
Autolites (these suck even worse than Champions)
Champions (I wont even put them in my Snapper Riders 8 hp Briggs, good ol R45s AC and 2 years and sitting out in snow and rain all winter, still running!)

Once I get closer to being done I will use better plugs. Right now I'm killing too many of them. LOL!

Also that's a pretty cold heat range, you may want to go up 1 or two ranges esp for on the street. I was fouling 3933's and getting black plugs on what was good dyno jetting, went to 3935's and they cleaned up nice. (could partly be the junk gas now too vs the non emmisions 94-95 octane unlead I dyno'd with)
