I have a 1st gen camaro Gbar. In addition to my 6 speed upgrade I decided to move the ride height up a little. I now a have a very bad vibration @ 65 -70 MPH that gets worse with speed. I know my drive shaft is balanced and the car with the old ride height and transmission was smooth at high speeds. Besides going from a T10 to a T56, The only adjustment I made was to the lower shock mount. I moved the mount up one location on the axle plate. Would that be enough to drastically change my pinion angle and create a bad vibration? Should I be looking at my Trans and crossmember location?

Thanks

You need to get out the angle finder and see what your driveline and pinion angle currently are. You may be able to adjust the driveline angle with a wedge between the tranny mount and tranny. I would start with washers and then get some plate. Or you could just reset the rear axle to match the driveline angle.

I have the angle finder but don't have the trans! It getting rebuilt. I was going to put the ride height back since it was easy enough to do and see what the angles are.

With the G-Bar you can adjust the pinion angle by adjusting the upper links either to be shorter or longer depending on which way you need to go.

You will really need the trans in the car, at right height with full weight in it, to set the pinion angle thou.

I think Frank at Prodigy sells upgraded links that let you adjust the pinion angle w/o having to take them off. Probably worth it if you are doing frequent adjustments, otherwise it should be a set once and forget about sort of deal.

I know the upper links are adjustable I didn't want to start messing with them yet. Just got a call from the shop it Looks like the trans will not be ready this weekend. I'll have to wait.....
