As I was preparing a new 3link spreadsheet for my site (Page 40), I realized that it could also be used with triangulated 4link and torque arm suspensions. While neither of these are normally considered 3links, if you think of the triangulated pair in a triangulated 4link as a single centrally located link and if you think of a torque arm as being the extended mount for a link having zero length, you end up with...as far as the spreadsheet is concerned...a 3link.

The spreadsheet then tells you how to adjust the angles of the remaining links so that the driveshaft torque is dynamically cancelled. In other words, for any value of driveshaft torque, the rear tires remain equally loaded. (This is assuming, of course, that they were equally loaded before the launch.)

This means the fronts lift equally, no preloading is necessary, and the car leaves straight every time.

Can this be applied to a handling application instead of a drag only arrangement?

I doubt if a C-Type Jaguar ever found its way to a dragstrip. Seriously, the benefits of dynamic driveshaft torque cancellation are to be sought for any RWD beam axle car when maximum forward acceleration is a goal, whether it is at the exit of a corner or at a dragstrip.
