My TT 70 Chevelle is nearly complete.

I bought the car out of Arizona so zero rust.

I wanted a quiet, budget (kinda) comfortable cruiser with a little bit of kick. It's running now and sounds great. Nice and quiet with a nice muscle car tone, super smooth and you can hear the turbos spool up with a quick stab of the gas in neutral.

It made 567rwhp 570rwtq with 9psi boost.

It's got an 04 LQ9 with an LS6 cam, dual springs, comp pushrods, Edelbrock intake. Twin stock buick grand national turbos and air boxes, liquid intercooler with garrett 750hp core.

Pypes 2.5in exhaust, slash cut/hidden tips. 8.2 10-bolt with 3.36 posi. FLT level 4 4L65e, still column shift/bench seat. A/C is still in place, I pieced together some lines, flushed it out, replaced o-rings and reciever/dryer for r134a conversion.
A few other items are the vintage craftsman toolbox (battery box) and vintage cooler (liquid intercooler resevoir). Oh yeah, and the whitewall ET street radials. :)

Not exactly 'pro touring' as the car doesn't handle well considering it is a little tire and stock suspension but I thought you guys might like it.

Perfect just the way it is. Stealthy but enough hints to raise eyebrows before you pop the hood.

Pro touring or not ..... that is the ultimate sleeper car if I ever saw one. Nice job.

Now some suspension updates will bring it into the 90's.

Help me understand please what the metal cooler with the pump is for.

Great car. Love the surprise effect you get from a sleeper.

Thanks guys.

It is a stock LS1 PCM I tuned 2 bar speed density with HP tuners.

The car has an air/water intercooler so the cooler is the liquid reservoir, the bilge pump pumps the water through the intercooler, then through a heat exchanger mounted low in the front of the car, then back to the reservoir.

That is an awesome Malibu so many extra little touches really helps make it that much more special and add to the cool factor. I may borrow your battery box idea for my project.

You going to RSD Friday night? Looking to get booted again for not having enough 'safety' equipment?

That car is totally cool dude. Nice job.

aye! she's a porker!! Didn't your Camaro weigh that much too? I won't be at the track tonight. Too many cry-babies bitching about spots all night. The Grove WILL be packed tomorrow though, and I'm going to watch Jay run 8.70's :)

1/4 mph 123.32

I'm impressed. Are you pleased or do you think ti has more in it with how it is setup?

INTMD8
08-22-2009, 07:07 PM
I think there would be some room for imporovement on the 60ft if I installed a rear sway bar and replaced the 39yr old bushings.

I'm very pleased with the car overall though since original goal was 475rwhp and high 11's.

Thanks guys. No real updates. No issues with the 10 bolt but I did install a 12 bolt recently. Other than that, just been enjoying it.

Drove it to the automotion show in the dells a while back and it knocked down 19.3mpg at 70mph with the air on.

Dave, any questions feel free to send a pm. It is just a stock column shifter with a shiftworks linkage.

The Chevelle looks awesome. I could have made a fortune on the street back in the day with this car. What size are the DR's back there? You have always done beautiful work, I remember the 96 SS. What kind of a/c did you use? Is it the oem style or did you go with Vintage Air? Again, awesome work on the car.

How did you get the whitewalls into the mickys?

INTMD8
07-27-2010, 07:09 AM
Thanks again.

The dr's are 235 60 15. Diamondback smooths the sidewall and installs the stripe. (they can do white/red/gold)

The a/c is oem. I just flushed the system, replaced all o-rings and reciever/dryer. The a/c compressor is the one that came on the engine and I just cut and welded the lines to adapt them.

I think he said it was a LS1 PCM.
