Hey Everyone,
We just launched a new online photo contest called Performance Therapy (http://www.performancetherapycontest.com). Basically we're trying to promote the message that despite the ups and downs you hear on the daily news, gearheads should go out and enjoy their cars - it's the best form of therapy you can get.
All you have to do to enter is send in a picture, and you can win all this:
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2009/08/PT-1.jpg (http://performancetherapycontest.com/prizes.php)
The loot -
Runners up get a t-shirt.
Six category winners get a $200 gift certificate to one sponsor.
The grand prize winner gets a complete system from all NINE sponsors, including Hotchkis Sport Suspension, Baer Brakes, Yokohama Tire, Rushforth Wheels, Flowmaster Exhaust, MSD Ignition, Red Line Oil, Lifeline Fire & Safety Systems and Hot Wheels; enough to practically build a pro-touring car!
So here's the deal: go to the site (http://www.performancetherapycontest.com/) and upload a picture of you enjoying your car with a sentence or two describing what automotive activity makes you happiest.
Categories include:
Car show, racing, garage scene, family and photochop and action
Vote for yourself or have friends vote for you by clicking your image. Each computer can vote once. Put your shot on facebook with the link supplied, and you can rack up even more votes.
Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks for supporting the hobby! Performance Therapy (http://www.performancetherapycontest.com/)

WOW! This looks like a great deal! I hope one of our members wins. Everyone here should enter. I can't think of anyone who couldn't use some free parts or a T-shirt. :)
Good luck all of you!

I uploaded a few pics one for a different category as per the rules but did not see how to actually put it in a category.

Thanks Tony!
Stickman - Thanks for entering! Unfortunately the powers-that-be at Flickr won't let us break the album into categories. So... the judges will just tally up the votes for the photos that fit different criteria.
Keep 'em coming! If I didn't help build the contest I'd be pounding away at this thing... beyond all the killer car parts who could say no to a CRATE of Hot Wheels?

I noticed this on Autoblog when I saw Mary's car.
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/08/13/performance-therapy-wants-to-reward-you-for-having-a-good-time-w/
Then I checked out some of the entries
"Auto cross champ Mary Pozzi driving her home-build 1973 Chevrolet Camaro, featuring a Hotchkis TVS, torque-thrust wheels and more.
"
. . . I'd like to point out that I think Mary's car runs wheels from Vintage Wheel Works, not TT's. And autocross has no space between "auto" and "cross."
It looks like a really fun contest though. I'll post a pic up and see how it goes.

I put up a picture of my sportwagon me and the family took down to a show in Denver.
While my wagon isn't much, it is mine. I could benefit from winning. Not expecting to though.

We're looking for all kinds of cars, wagons and daily drivers included.
It's not too late for you to send in a car photo for a chance to win all the parts and toys.
All you need to do is post up some pictures of your ride, don't worry about category. Write a few lines explaining why you love your car, and how much fun you're having in the photos, and then go get your friends to vote for you.
There's still more than a month for you to promote your car at car events, on flickr, facebook, twitter, and myspace.
If you don't want to enter, check out the cars on the Performance Therapy (http://www.performancetherapycontest.com/entries.php) site and vote for the ride you think best represents the joy of car ownership. Don't you want someone from Pro-Touring to win? Maybe they'll let you play with the Hot Wheels.

So are you tallying the number of views to determine the winner?
I'm not sure what link to give friends. A direct link to the flickr page or do they have to click through the Performance Therapy site?

WOW...after getting laid off from Kohler Co. and trading my beloved ATV (since I cant get away to ride anymore due to my wife having to work two jobs, and our 6 kids), I traded my monster atv for a stock 71 Cutlass S so we could at least drive it 80 percent of the year, daily taking the kids to school, grocery store runs, taking the kids to flag football practice...etc......WOW...this is an amazing idea!!!...thanks to all the sponsors of this contest!!
Its like a Make A Wish, and I agree...It is therapy for the soul!! I will have to get out and snap some pics today or tomorrow with the kids!!

Jturkey, absolutely send in the cutlass and tell us your story.
You all still have a month to post your photos and get your friends' votes. Each time someone clicks on your photo (from flickr, facebook, Performance Therapy or anywhere else you've posted a link) that gets recorded as a vote for your car.
We want all kinds of projects, drivers, dreams, and racecars.

Is there a way to search for a car (mine). I searched for my name, picture description, and car type; with no luck.

Nessumsar -
Did you just post over the weekend? It takes about 24 hours for the entries to show up, as they have to be logged in manually. If you submitted your photos over the weekend they'll show up this morning.
On the PT home page (http://www.performancetherapycontest.com/entries.php) there's a window that shows the latest entries.
Once your car is up, you should be able to find it by searching your name.

currently waiting for the rain to stop....after how many wet days so I can get some pics of us and the Cutlass. I wish I knew how to use a photoshop program, I could then add the wheels, drop, and paint. Black bottom, and bumpers, charcoal fade line, into the sides and top being the original Bittersweet Orange color. Hopefully tomorrow we can get the pics up!!

Have a question. If you just post the link directly to your pic...when someone clicks that does it count as vote if the link takes them right to it?

yes, any click on your pic through a link or otherwise gets counted.
