Was about ready install the oil pan and gasket and ran across a couple things... First (this is a LS1 oil pan made retrofitted for a '68 camaro) there are 5 holes for screws on the bottom inside of the pan, are thse for anything that I need to be concerned about? Also the 2 rivets that hold the gasket on to the pan, are these needed or are they just to hold the gasket in place until you get it bolted onto the motor?

Those holes are there to hold the original baffle plate. Guess it doesn't fit anymore.

If your pan does not use the baffles be careful. I had a Street and Performance pan on my car for a few weeks. If I stopped hard or took a hard corner the pickup would come out of the oil. It cost me a motor. "Spun a barring" We made are own pan and keep the baffles in it and has ben fine since. Randy
