I'm getting ready to get wheels for my 67 chevelle and looking at the Centerline Retro wheels in the Legend series. Ive got about 2 grand in my budget for wheels and tires. I really want 17's so that i'll have some sidewall showing.

Im hoping to get a 9.5 inch wheel in the back with around about a 275/45 tire. I do have the later rear in my car which is 1/2 wider on each side. Ill be using ls1 rear discs as well. Im thinking about 5.5 inch backspace for the rear. The lips on my wheel wells are already rolled.

Thinking about a 8 inch wheel for the front with a 235 or 245/45 tire. Not sure about backspacing. I have the afx spindles with c5 brakes and spc springs. I may have to use a spacer due to the brakes.

I'm looking for suggestions on this because i really dont know. i know that i should measure first, but my body is off the frame and i'd like to go ahead and get some wheels on my chassis to move it around. I'm hoping to acheive the same look and stance as this buick from the SC&C website.

I have the Centerline Retros. I put a set of 15x8 ralleys with 4"bs and took my measurements off of those. Centerline freaked out because I only wanted 3.5" of bs up front and 4.5" in the rear but they fit perfectly. They are a nice wheel and when I got them I didn't see anyone with them.. now it seems like they are popping up more and more.

Wheels are 17x8 and 17x9.5
Tires are Nitto 555 245/45 and 285/40

You think you could get a 305/45 or 305/35 on the 9.5 okay? maybe not in your car, but fitment okay? I too want sidewall, but selection on tires in the 17" is dropping fast.

Here's what I have on my '66 Chevelle:

Wheels
Front – 18 x 8.5 (5.2” back space)
Rear – 19 x 10 (5.5” back space)
Tires
Front – 255/40-18
Rear – 295/35-19

And here's what's on my '66 El Camino:

Wheels
Front – 18 x 8 (4.75” back space)
Rear – 18 x 10 (5.5” back space)
Tires
Front – 245/40-18
Rear – 295/45-18

To get the 10's in the rear you'll need to trim or roll the rear fender lip but that's all. This should give you some food for thought.

What kind of brakes are u running up front Tony. Nice car by the way. I've noticed these coming up more and more lately also. I just hope they arent the next TT2's

I'm running standard f-body LS1 brakes up front. There are a few company's out there too that have copied the 'Retro' wheel (assuming Centerline came out with it first) so I think they'll become more common.. hopefully not as common at the TT2 though like you said.
