Ok guys everytime i visit this site it has a banner that reminds me to make a post or start a thread so here it is, it seems every few years there is a new fad in the hotrodding world i've seen rat rods, prostreet, Riceburners, bagged mini trucks, big lifted trucks, pro-touring, donked out cuttys, the list goes on and on, but my questions is whats gonna be the next big fad? Opinions please.....Thanks Mickey

why does it have to be looked at as a fad? Hot rods evolve and this its next natural step.
The real question would be when will the pinnacle be reached as technology can not go further?

Cars are built for a purpose and when your needs change, I believe so will YOUR fad.

Unless people start building flying cars I think the full spectrum has been acheived.

What about a 2100 lb car with 400rwhp, 6 speed trans, 3 link rear suspension, quickchange rearend, 315mm front rubber, 335mm rear rubber, with power windows, A/C, and a full interior that will be driven and raced at several autocrosses and track events in 2010?

What about if it can be built for under $40k in REAL money?

What if its a 1933 Ford?

do it for under $20k and leave out the AC, power windows, and anything else that doesn't make it go, turn, or stop.

Tupperware pro-touring hotrod from Factory Five?

I don't see it taking off....

Biodiesel. Great power, inexpensive, and the exhaust smells like french fries.

Mmm! :yum:

I don't disagree that the modern conveniences add nothing to the "performance" of the car, but it sure makes the car more fun to live with.

The Tupperware comment...hehe...that's cute...I'll have to use that!

The 33 is indeed a Factory Five kit. Although I have not turned one whrench on it yet, I am initially impressed with the quality of the design, the manufacture and the business model. We will be doing a complete video/photo build up this winter for our website. I'll keep a thread going here as well.
The basic kit is $20k and included everything [really, everything!] minus engine/trans/rearend, and wheels/tires. If you were industrious and frugal, you could put this car together for under $25k. Those who have any realistic idea of the build cost for a "non-TupperWare" car will recognize that as a real deal.

Will it be fast? The math says so...we'll see if the stopwatch agrees.

Can't wait to follow the build. Absolutely LOVE the FFR '33!
